Gaming Hardware...

Hello, in my computer i have an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ (runs at 2.08) I can safely over clock it to 2.15

I have some 128mb video card, i forget what it is called but i think its about $60 only right now. I have 1024 ram of pc 2700.... For a good boost in speed what would the best thing to upgrade be? And I am talking about gaming here.... (preparing for EQ 2) Which of these 3 components is most important?

I have pretty much the exact same specs as you, and I was planning on upgrading my video card when EQ2 comes out. I asked pretty much the same question about a month ago and I was told video card.

Your computer is qquite ok for EQ2 but i think the video card will be a big let down.

Fact you paid $60 for it and not sure what is it points most likely to a low end card.In gaming espically mmorpg the card is the most important part.So invest in a good card.If you are not ready to splash $400 -$600 on a card get the R9800pro for about $250.It will do u well.

Okay i was planning on buying a new card, and probably one of them $500 ones.... but i plan on waiting for the game to be released to actually do it because there is always that possibility that the prices would go down. but cool i hope if i get a ass haulin video card that my comp will run it almost smooth :P

No, the one he probably has is the ATI Radeon 9200. It's definately not low end, more of mid end card. The 9200 will run EQ2 just fine, you just won't be super pretty and will have to keep on the lowest settings. There is absolutely no need to go spend $500 on a new gfx card just to play one crappy game.

I'm running a 9200 with a P4 2.ghz and 512MB ram. Right now CoH gets some low FPS, so i doubt EQ2 will "run fine" with the 9200. He has got more ram than me but nevertheless, by the time EQ2 comes out you can probably pick up a 9800 pro and at that time it will be dirt cheap.

EDIT: oh i just read all of the post and yeah, the 9200 will probably do ok if you put low setting on.
