Its a easy-mode MMO, thats essenitally is the Facebook of the MMO world. People mainly play it still cause its the social-interaction that keeps them going.

When you finally got your whole epic set collected, a new expansion will be launched so you can start all over again.  Blizzard must be thankful for all those players who keep purchasing game time so they can achieve more things which will be useless after a few months. Ta-daa, the magic of addiction.
Wait a second, not bashing or anything but WoW has achievements now?

I am sorry(not bashing here) but spending 40hours(lol WORK much?) a week for 1 item that you might not get is no achievement want to know what an achievement is?

    1. Medal of Honor

Complete 1 Mass Effect Playthrough on any setting.                                                   100 points

waste all of that time for a new instance or x-pack and waste more hours for another item, Not an achievement in my book.

Getting to 60 and even 70 is more of a  achievement then a item.

But i agree with you, blizzard will most likely kill them selfs like most MMOs.

    Playing: Everthing
    Played: DAoC,AC2,EvE,SWG,WAR,MXO,CoX,EQ2,L2,LOTRO,SB,UO,WoW.
I have played every MMO that has ever come out.

Not any "easier" than other MMOs, just more accessible - and with fewer time penalities so you see more content that isn't diluted as much by time.   But yeah, social interaction is the main reason to keep playing.  Playing games together is addictive when you get tired of the game itself, which is why people still play online shooters every day.

My mate still plays counterstrike 1.6.  That game has almost "no" content other than guns and maps, and as a single player game it would be forgotten, but it's the people that make the whole thing worthwhile.

So when other games make grouping needlessly awkward, by making content that requires a very specific class make up, and having so many classes that each class is limited to just one or two roles, compared to WoW, which has fewer classes but more roles per class, it's no wonder why the game is so popular.

Most MMOs still haven't understood the lesson WoW taught; that you can have multiplayer content without having the player jump through 5 billion hoops just to make sure your group is 'right' for that content.  Raids are a different story, but lots of people like that kind of thing too - just not as many as people like me, who have a job, and responsibilities, and I cant afford to waste any more time in poorly designed games like EQ2.

Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...

i love making money with all the possibilities u have. Lets face it l2 and wow have one of best engines there is. Tho wow is more complex, bigger i would say, and then game is mostly about pvp which is different than in other games. And again l2 has too little of choice (whole profesion system is awsome at wow). Anyway people tend to do what other people do... so yur friend play wow u play wow (if u can afford it)

And yeah i love killing all lv 70 orc warriors with my 63 human pally :)

WOW addictive?! rofl dont make me laugh! First of all the game isnt thought out theres nothing to do but killing!?! second the graphics suck asse ( i mean like games from 2000 look better then this crapy engine). The proffessions are also lame and it takes years to lvl. the biggest part is pvp and thats where you already lose like 50% of the players that luv pve more then pvp. and off course the huge error by blizzard... a gaming fee?! monthly!?!!? are the nuts its like 15 euro's each month!? like any smart kids wanna pay that amount ?! like they even have it!?!

in 1 word this game just is lame/boring or it just sucks i cant choose!

If you enjoy it then play it, if not then don't it's that simple!  I don't know why so many people seem to seek others approval to justify enjoying a game.

Because it's a fun game? Because It had a huge fanbase even before the games release? Do I need to continue.

And that came from the right persons mouth? You're playing L2 for the love of god. It looks even worse. It looks like japanese cartoons with terrible graphics.

and yes, I'm arguing at the same level as you are. See how well it goes? No one changes their mind.

It's fun, it's playable by a huge array of different machines, it's addictive, it caters to the hardcore and casual, it caters to pve and pvp, it has a huge number of online players creating a really massive multiplayer gaming experience, it is constantly updated, it constantly has content added, it has a unique graphic style, it is polished, it is bug free, it is well marketed, it has a huge player base, it is fun, and more hardcore whiners are leaving every day.  What's not to like?

... WoW is anything but "bug free" and polished...   and new content and constant updates would be one n the same...

and WoW's graphics are still low quality even compared to L2, at least you can turn on HDR/AA in L2  =/

It is more bug free and polished than any other mmo released in the last 5 years..  What I was saying is that it is playable by a wide array of machines and setups because the graphics are runnable by low end machines, and yet it still has a unique artistic style that a ton of people like.

...And I can't really complain about the GFX, not since TBC, where they implemented more of my favourite design: shineys. Just think about two weapons, one normal sword and a shiny one that can make any  average gamer go  (look up Netherbane 1h axe on some database site). And the gameplay is simply awesome once you get to 55+ and even better at 70.
