Enough has been written about the combat and the gameplay and all that stuff. Let’s talk about the small insignificant things that just happen to make your day as you go along in TR. What is your fave?
Is it:
a. finding Ultima running on a PC in a research lab
b. PA announcements at foreas base
c. The mission to retrieve a porno mag for a guy who left it in a remote bunker after needing some “private time” with it.
d. Something else.

I got to say for me its the PA announcements at Foreas Base. Some of them are quite funny first time you hear them, and still hearing new ones.
Seeing the animals fight each other or even fighting the Bane!
when you use a toilet it actualy flushes and then when you use a sink the water turns on /off
...
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.
I never saw that in beta.
Fighting alongside an NPC and just as some Thrax dies in a really painful manner one of them yells, "Taste the rainbow bitch!"
I never saw that in beta.
and I can also confirm that the toilet does flush (green water)
I really like the voiceovers they have in a lot of quests since release. It's a nice touch and I never find myself recognising the actors voice from a different quest so it doesn't feel like some generic monologue.
Definately the PA announcements at the Forean base.
I forget the name of the NPC at Fort Condor I believe, but he has some great statements in his missions text. The writers did an excellent job with most of the mission text.
The random banter that occurs between NPC's, guards at bases etc. Sometimes I just stand around enjoying the different conversations.
The little touches in this game are fantastic. I love how all of the same, lame MMO mechanics are cleverly hidden by good game design. For instance all mob spawns don't just pop out of nowhere and respawn. A dropship flies in and drops them off.
I also like how quest giving and static NPCs aren't static at all. They'll actively get off their ass and jump in battle when they have to. They don't just stand there like 'tards with Bane swarming all around them.
I like the way the skies look
specifically seeing motherships and then seeing pods that appear to be coming down from them attacking CP's and outposts
"If you want a picture of the future, imagine a robot foot stomping on a human face -- forever."
I was given a mission to kill some filcher birds because they were stealing ammo, due to it's shiny nature. The next day I notice that after killing a thrax soldier with a filcher nearby, the filcher swooped in and stole the loot off the thrax's body! I couldn't loot it anymore.
COOOL, hehe, now thats game mechanics at work, instead of MOBs spawning with loot, they actually steal the loot
Very nice touch
i get a big kick out of jumping into a group of bane from above, and just after doing the 'tuck and roll' landing, blasting them with the aoe knockback from my shotgun. it's so lovely
The little roll you do if you jump from too high up, it makes me laugh every time.
I love all the npc dialog, both on the part of your allies and the bane, I believe that it truly increases the immersion, and it is actually genuinely funny at times.
We shall not cease from exploration and the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started... and know the place for the first time.

I personally love how taking cover actually does something (in reducing damage taken).
The fact that the benign indigenous life (like those boar types) will attack the hostile indigenous (tree lurkers) and also how the Hostile life will jump on the bane, setting both of them up for me to pick them off at a distance.
The variance in weapons and damage types and mobs and their resistances. Nothing like taking aim and shooting at some new mob only to realize it's immune and quickly selecting another weapon that you hope is going to work while you're being charged. Also the unique abilities of certain mobs such as Linkers. It forces me to pay strict attention to when I can attack them without getting myself killed from the reflect.
LOS attacking. Ever get that feeling of unrealism in a game where you can run within a few feet of something and it won't agro you? Not in TR! In most cases as soon as they can see you they attack you. I love it.
Playing: varies every day it seems.
I love the way my character looks when I hold and holster my pistols. I also love how I have to use cover and kneeling to improve my shots.
I Reject your Reality and Substitute it with My Own!
It gets better. I was able to kill the damn thing and retrieve the loot it had stolen!
I've actually killed these filchers at random and recovered stacks of loot that they had been stealing from other players.
Forean Base PA Announcements are the best.
Due to supply issues, tonites movie is a holdover from last week. Tonites dinner is also a holdover from last week.
Or the one about the lost sock being found, or the one about kissing being dangerous, so do it only if you have to do it.
I have stepped off the teleporter at foxtrot base in divide to find a Stalker standing in the centre of the base laying waste to the NPC's.
I like shooting the forcefield on a bane held CP and seeing the bane come boiling out the door to wipe you out.
I like that you can get in bunkers, or up one the second floor in towers and shoot out the windows at the enemy below.
Or crouching on the wall at a control point trying to hold off the bane hordes.
Or wiping yourself out the first time you shoot one of the higher level shield drones that reflect damage.
