Well one way that CoX differs from other games with pvp is there is no Higher-Up ganking Lowbies. Since the pvp only happens in specific zones, once you enter your Combat Level is either raised or lowered to a specific level. That way everyone is effectively fighting as if they were the same level. Nothing like in WoW where if you enter at the minimum level of a battleground, you're basically honor-fodder for the others.
For the most part the pvp is team oriented. Stalkers (villain) though can pretty much solo pvp if they choose, their Hide power they get at level one stacks with other concealment powers making them harder to detect. My Stalker can 1-shot anyone except a tanker or kheld in dwarf form.
Most of the real competitive PvP Takes place in the Arena on the Test server. There it is mostly heros and pretty only much a few builds of them as well.

It is more team oriented.
How does the PvP in CoX compare to other games? Just wondering
Torrential
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
group oriented
