Just beat Mass Effect (spoiler free)

Don't worry I am not gonna spoil any of the story plot or twists in case you have yet to play/beat the game. Although, I am pretty sure my experience with the game will differ from your own as there are so many different game-altering choices.

Seriously, if you have an Xbox 360 you need this game. The story sucks you in within 10 minutes of playing. The acting is unbelievable, and the combat is fast and very fun. There is not a better game on the 360 at this time, and yes I am including BioShock, The Orange Box, Halo 3, Assassin's Creed, Cod 4 and Gears of War in that tally. I have played them all and this game blows them all out of the water.

Before I went in and played this game I read some reviews that stated there were a lot of bugs and graphical glitches. There wasn't. There was an occasional fps drop but that was very rare and the bugs were kept to a minimum form what I experienced.

Also of note is that the reviews said the enemy, and ally AI was poor. While the enemies certainly aren't the smartest AI I have experienced in a game they were definitely up-to-snuff with what I'd consider to be good AI. Your allies were also fairly smart at taking cover and targeting enemies. My biggest problem with my squadmates was that they would occasionally get in the way of my shots, which was a bit annoying.

The story was flat-out AMAZING. This is better that KoTOR, better than Jade Empire, better than any RPG story I have played, which includes Final Fantasy VII. The shear amount of variable options is almost overwhelming and you can seriously make some major story changes simply by making a different command here as opposed to there.

This game is part of a trilogy, and while the ending is definitely fulfilling and well worth playing the game it leaves the story open enough that you absolutely can not wait for the next game to get released (lets hope EA doesn't screw it up). I just beat the game and am immediately starting a new one.

Once again, to any 360 owners, GET THIS GAME. It is amazing. . .

P.S. Can;t wait for some downloadable content. :D

    I'm waiting till it comes on PC myself because it has sooo many problems on the 360, i doubt i'll like it cause Bioware always makes the gayest combat systems, from the little i played of it, ME is no different.



    However it's not better than the Orange Box, actually it's not better than the song at the end of Portal and Alyx's arse of and the GMAN was kool too.

    I just beat it too. It was amazing. Awesome rpg, a little framerate trouble but it didn't bother me. It has a great story and gameplay. The way it lets you choose stuff can determine the outcome of many situations. I agree, if you love rpg's you NEED this game. Times to beat it on hardcore and insane!

    Yeh and seeing as Bioware and Lucas Arts have ditched the PC it makes you wonder if they were making a mmorpg together then it wouldn't be for the PC but i'm sure it's just a 360 KOTOR 3.

    Mass Effect is great. I can't say the AI is poor though. They are pretty good at taking you out. Put on a barrier and move on in with a shotty. Pretty smart for the AI to know when your weak so they can take you out. Sometimes I really get upset with my hits. When I feel that a shotgun blast directly in your face should kill you, take damage or at least blow you back, you  forget about that they have shields and stuff.

    EDIT

    Another little peeve of mine is that I'm tired of hearing, "I WILL DESTORY YOU!" "I WILL DESTROY YOU!" They could have added a little more dialog to the enemies. At least as much as Oblivion, well Oblivion did piss me off by taking the natural voices and sounds out of most the races so ...yeah
