WoW Break

So I recently Came back to WoW after a 9 month break and I added a subscription to my account and downloaded all of the updates and when I log onto my character everything in my backpacks is a question mark. Then I get Disconnected from the server. I re-log in and I notice that some of my items aren't question marks anymore. I do this until everything but my keys are back to normal. But the problem is my keys on my key ring are still question marks and I get booted out of the game. Does anyone know what the cause of this is? or why is it doing or what do I need to do to fix it. or does me being inactive for 9 months have anything to do with it?

Not sure, sounds like your best bet is to run to the technical support forum on the blizzard website.

check the folder where you have wow installed.  Find repair.exe  ....or something like that .use it :p

From your first post it doesn't sound to me like this was a fresh install, did you remove all your all addons before you started the game up? There's no way those are still compatible anymore with the current day patches and they could cause problems.

Delete WTF folder + Interface (or backup) to be sure imo if you hadnt ;)

If repair doesn't work, reinstall wow and repatch. If you still have that problem then talk to blizzard tech support! they'll fix it. wow has some of the best support around!

I would talk with Tech support before you reinstall.  They'll walk you thru all the possibilities with a full reinstall being the last resort.  And yes I would say it definately has something to do with you being away from the game for 9 months.  Seems like it's having to retrieve your inventory from backups or something.

Sharpshot did you already try everything mentioned here?

My quess is that you didn't, and the problem is just some out of date addon. Those caused problems similar to yours a few patches ago.
