Game Cyber Bullying

Hi People its me again

I have a new issue concerning all people

I have witnessed some amazingly stupid things - Cyber Bullying, which invloves people calling abd bullying other people because of thier differences - colour - beliefs and general things such as how they talk and such on forums. A number of people i have witnessed Cyber Bullying other people on games (Which i wont name for saftey purposes)

Why do they Do this? Why cant people stop being judgemental

Also i also found, that the Admins didnt do anything aabout it even when they were told on numerous occasions that persons where annoying them and that they were being  called abuse over the forums.

words only have power if u give them power. i dont really believe in cyberbullying. its sort of a misnomer, an illusion. to me a person who resorts to name calling, badgering, harrassing is merely showing me their lack of maturity, intelligence, and overall common sense and inability to communicate like a proper adult. i to some degree feel sorry for these people to realize the true hell they must be living to lack the fundamental skills of a successful adult.

It's called human nature. You can fight it for so long but eventually something of the old will slip out.

Others do it because they can't get away with it in real life. They are too scared of getting a slap so they do it online.

If a person can't take a joke, or a few words that don't mean crap, while on the interwebs maybe it's not the place for them?

You can't be a bully on the internet, you can just ignore mute or leave. Change server's make a new toon or just trash talk back, Like i said if you are that weakminded you shouldn't be on the internet and may want to get help to get your mind on track.

I like chance haha, You have to admit if your not smart of enough to ignore/mute someone or anything like that on the internet and get your "Feelings hurt" on a game/forum, You shouldn't be here and need help to make yourself a stable person, Words shouldn't affect you in anyway no matter what it is, And that goes to every person, color and race out there.

i tend to be allergic to stupidity, so i avoid it all together. yeah people who bully should be dealt with, but only if its in self defense at the moment. and u can only adminster equal or less force required to prevent your own injury. to me the OP seems to have an serious issue with builly's maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

did he or she get into a quarrel with someone? or perhaps they know someone close to them that got into a quarrel with someone in RL? or on this site and are merely "venting" their frustrations to the situation? who knows thats how I am seeingi t, i figure if that is the case, go thru the proper channels in this site to get stuff done, or just ignore them on the site, there is a ignore button i believe its very simple.

make a few retorts if need be, if that doesnt work, then slam the ignore-o-matic on them, problem solved. now if its RL? and u have someone bustng your chops and abusing you or calling you names etc, well i have nothing more to say other than go through the proper channels of authority and take it from there. venting here isnt going to get things rolling to have this problem solved. but then again thats just me, i tend to be an assertive, take action type of person.

I let most  things roll, I don't care. But if someone is going out of their way to ruin my game play, like purposefully steal killing, or harrassing me with other stuff like stealen loot and wasting my time, I have no issues reporting them. Of course, assuming that its against the rules in that certain game. Name calling and "text" things I couldn't care less about.

Sure I'll Ignore or mute the silly Chuck Norris jokes or asking to be PL'd but someone spewing religious or racist venom?

    I think not.....

For a society to advance we as a whole have to decide certain actions and behaviors are no longer tolerated. It's not a matter of someones feelings being hurt or being mentally stable. it's a matter of the human race evolving and quite frankly growing up.  Remember people have and continue to be murdered over this nonscense.

That silly miss guided child allowed to spew garbage unchecked eventually grows into an infinitely more dangerous adult.

I agree, very simple solution is place the person(s) on the Ignore / Mute list. The other fact is that I hope the person involved didn't give out personal information of themselves which was used in the bullying / harassment incident. If it was over their in-game character than the bullying would be make the person doing so extremely immature.

A case that I've seen / heard this occur, and only once have I seen this sort of thing occur in all the games I've played is when there are siblings or friends playing the game which they already know much about each other and they bring their differences into the in-game environment and make it a spectical for the entire gaming community to behold.

But I agree....no such thing as cyber bullying, people are jerks to you.... be a jerk back... or put them on ignore....would be nice if real life worked like that.

The only time Cyber Bullying should be an issue is when it is used in conjunction with real life bullying.  Making websites of someone in an attempt to harass or defame them or recording video of abuse / assault and then posting it online, these are the kind of things that are serious enough to discuss doing something about. Someone calls you a name in a game or  follows you around trying to be an annoyance is really nothing to get upset about, grieving is easily sidestepped by ignoring, leaving, laughing and myriad other ways.

Understand the griever and you can easily get them to stop, as their only objective is to annoy you, and if you are not annoyed they have no recourse but to move on to another more "receptive" victim.

I do agree that cyber bullying is uncalled for, but why is this type of information being given to other people on a game? Did you tell someone you were of color? Why did anyone have to know that?

I am sorry, but thats BS. Unless you have the enlightened mind of a Boddhisattva words always have meaning. Thats why in the laws of all civilized nations you can be sued for name calling people. The mind of 99.9% of all who are not like a Buddha words mean things, and we rightfully react to the meaning.

I believe people's dignity and honour must be protected by rules, that you can not name call anyone or harrass him or incite hate towards a person by everyone's whim. Words cause things, they motivate actions and influence behavior, thus words have great weight and must be checked by laws and rules of equal sincerity.

In an ideal world all people would be serious and respectful, but since human nature is imperfect, speech can never be of limitless freedom, but ends where the dignity and honour of another is harmed. It is not for us individually to react and fight it out, for that would be mere anarchy. It is for rules to be set and authorities to make sure those rules are followed and if violated people are penalized. So yes, while we individually should not fight endlessly over it, I wish forum and game authorities would react more harsh towards trolling and harrasment.  Leaving it to the individuals to judge what is trolling only is anarchy and usually leads to endless with-hunts of "who is a troll". Let authorities deal with it swift and silently, behind closed doors and not in public "show-trials".
