I am pretty sure the first thing Blizzard is going to do is revive Starcraft:Ghost as a game they are working on.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

So does this mean well have more games trying to push the gaming market to new levels in design and gameplay OR will it mean games CoD and GH will be the same game over and over with genical game designs rehashed with 'BAND NEW GRAPHICAL ENGINES!!!!'?

    Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!

I had a dream last night they announced Diablo 3. Strange. Saw the commercial and everything. It looked bad ass in my dream, full 3D ect. This merger isn’t Diablo though.

" Activision Blizzard" original name lol wonder how long it took them to come up with it /sarcasm

My God!  One of my favorite all-time online games was Vampire: The Masquerade in which the player was in the position of the "storyteller" and could place and control 1) npcs, 2) objects, 3) the storyline, and 4) create entire worlds/maps.

Blizzard is a great company, perhaps my favorite gaming company, so who knows?  I think developers tend to destroy things (SOE:  EQ 1, SWG;  EA:  Sim City:  Obsidian:  NWN 2 and the great toolset;  you name it).

I wonder how destructive (or creative) this merger will be.

So Activision Blizzard is a bigger corp than than EA.

I hereby officially offer  two shortened name options for this new gaming giant.

    "AB"

    or

    "ActiBlizz"

Many in the gaming market, especially console development have always suggested Blizzard would bring WOW to the console. That being said I think Blizzard could be working out a WOW for xbox360 or PS3, either machines would play the game in full detail with no lag. The question remains though if anything coming out of Blizzard is going to be influenced now by Activision teams.

I don't know if you realize this, but Vivendi owned Blizzard so it wasn't Vivendi merging with Activision.  The merger of Blizzard and Activision basically means Vivendi bought out Activision, but did it as a merger of a subsidiary company.  Notice they obtained 52% of the ownership of the new company.  Nice sneaky way to buy out a company by calling it a merger of the target company and one of your subsidiaries.

All in all though, I see this as a very good move.  More resources that can be drawn upon to bring new games and ideas to the public.

Ah. Well, who can keep track of all the companies that Vivendi gobbles up in it's crusade to own all?

We would know by now if Blizzard has any plans for a WoW port to consoles.

damn   i wish these companies would remain how they are.  i was hoping Activision would stay as one of the big companies (like EA) and Blizz would stay as its own (brilliantly) unique company...oh well

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads
