Wondering if anyone knows of plans to have a forum on the the games website?  Everyone is scattered across the web to different forums.  Hopefully they plan to put this in soon. Great game though, i love it

There are no plans for an official forum ever, as far as anyone here knows.  This was a conscious decision on Destination Game's part.  Many new and upcoming  MMO's are also taking this route after seeing the travesty that official forums soon become.

Whether this is a good or bad decision is up to debate.  A debate, I shall not participate in.

If people here want to know, why companies are going to this route, not making the official forum for it's customers, I can answer for that.

It's because the forum doesn't server the purpose of the company anymore. Most the time forums ends, just been place where customers can insult the company and what they did do or did not do. So, basicly it's just too much negative information agaist what company tries to do, to all they potential customers to see.

So it's a lot safer to company just keep it in personal feedback system.

Yes, I know, it's not what customers wants, but it's better for companies future. Angry negative customers can destroy easyly some products reputation, before company even can fix the situation.

A game company does not need a dedicated Forum system IF, and only IF, they supply an alternative means of direct contact.

A perfect example would be DaOC and the Camelot Herald.

Note that the biggest player, World of Warcraft, does supply a fully funcitonal and featured Forum system and it does not seem to have hurt them one small bit.  Even though a large number of the posters there are, shall we say, less than useful.

So, what I really expect is that companies that have no Forums are really just hiding in shame and do not want to hear from their customer base in any true, meaningful way.

Is it feedback You want to give example for Tabula Rasa, there is is web-page to do so?

Other option would be, why would have need other customers to know You feedback so badly that You need forum for it?

Basicly what I have seen in mmorpg forums, it's just arguing who's right with they own opinions. The true feedback doesn't need others opinion nor does it needs You to judge others opinions.

Have you seen the in-game chatter on General? There are thousands of people on there that actually believe they are intelligent enough to discuss everything from game development to politics to religion. Be glad that they don't have forums. It's scary.. worse than the Bane even!

Yes, the Unofficial Forums is one of the most informative forum about TR, as already mentioned. Planet TR is also another TR only forum, maybe a bit more heavy in the social aspect and less in the informational. TR community staff checks and post in those two forums quite regularly, so it's a good place to hear and be heard by the devs.

From  the game portals you have quite a lot: TR Stratics, Ten Ton Hammer, etc.

For a full list you can always check the official list of forums and fansites (both in EU and USA).

I am a fan of the aforementioned unofficial forums. As well as these forums right here.

There are also many terrific tight knit communities developing all over, which enhances the social aspect of the game, which I believe is a good thing. Sci Fi Massive is a cool multi game / sci fi community with a growing TR playing population, if you are looking for something of that nature.
