If so, where can I download it from? And i thought u need the CD to download it

it is free to play but you still have to buy the game.it is a great game i havent played in a long time.but it is the only mmo out there that seems to care about the fan base
Guild Wars can be installed through two major ways. Yes, you can buy the retail box and it contains the CD that has most of the files (god forbid updates). You can also, you bought a CD key online or an existing account can just download the client online at its main website guildwars.com and play from there.
Warning, download the client takes a while with about 15000 files to update from the last time I checked.
And, yes, it's F2P. The only thing to pay is the actual game (or CD key to be exact). No monthly fees.

not just tank and spank download... u buy it for cheap as then play for free :P
It can't be considered f2p as the expansions cost and therefore you're forced to pay to start playing the game, but once bought you don't need to pay any (stupid) monthly fees.
