    Sure, easy answer.

Final Fantasy is not a mmorpg, it is a single player game. Final Fantasy XI is a mmorpg.

World of Warcraft, a mmorpg, has not been released for sale yet.

Lineage 2 is a mmorpg and has been released for sale. Pick this one.[/sarcasm]

Save yourself part of your life and skip Lineage 2, that game has too strong of penalties on PvP, a terrible level grind, entirley based off of ebay and ingame currency and IMO the graphics are stale and bland with no heart.

Got to agree with the L2 sum up there.I got my human knight to  lvl 28 and realised i was bored stupid. If you like the diabloesque issometric stylee view and not 3D then i recomend Legend of Mir 3 its in Beta at the mo but will be out quite soon(if its half as addictive as LOM2 im in trouble) it aint ground breaking but the gameplay rocks. :) all the best.

I would suggest looking beyond those three, mostly because all three really don't offer much that hasn't already been done, and done better.

as much as i like mmorpgs i never have the money to go out and get one. i reccomend runescape.com not so great (graphic wise) as most but is still great fun and free. Oh and i also cant wait untill middle earth online is released. i wouldn't get any of the three you wanted id save up for that.

DAoC has 4 expansions, 2 of which are free downloadable expansions. You can buy the DAoC platinum edition which contains the original DAoC game + the 2 non-free expansions for only $30, you also get a free month of gameplay, it's a good deal for a good game.

I'd recommend trying this game also if you havent already. The leveling isnt too fast or too slow, PvP is done really well and I think in the newest expansion you can now start going to the PvP battlegrounds at level 1, and it has the best death system (IMO) of any mmo game i've played thus far.

I've tried both Final Fantasy XI and Lineage II.

FFXI was better, in my opinion.  It was deep, had very nice graphics with an anime style and very many animations and dynamic features in the gameworld.  The gameplay was most similar to Everquest (but pretty much the same as the rest).  There was a good amount of variety, lots of content, and plenty . . . and I MEAN plenty of other players around.  I enjoyed it, although  . . .

It is really time consuming.  It requires you to find groups of other players to really experience everything and advance at a normal pace.  It has no PvP (some argue that it does, but it is merely a competition type of game within a game).  It has weird controls.

Lineage II had amazing graphics, best I have seen to date.  Very easy controls, but plain, almost incomlete interface.  That is about the best thing I can say about it.  The gameplay was more repetitive than any other mmorpg I have ever played.  There was so little content, and what there was took so long to get to, I was already bored silly.  The PvP was alright (alfte all the beta testers were gone).  I liked the penalties and the system.  Castle Sieges, although I have not seen any, look fun and the economic and social part of the game has some potential if players can survive the grind and get to the high-end game . . .

Out of these 2, I recommend Final Fantasy XI.

I'd would like to sneak in my recommendation to try the free 14 day trial of Star Wars Galaxies  :)

Final Fantasy XI is fun, but the lvling got slow and boring for me fast, thought much better than Lineage 2

Lineage 2 got boring even faster, didn't like the controls, or gameplay, spells were cool for a while, til i was using the same one over and over and over....

WoW looks great, can't wait to try it myself :)

in my opinion STAY AWAY from swg, i just canceled my account today after 1 year of playing, its very buggy, laggy, and the devs....ah the devs, but this is just my opinion, go check out the forums yourself heh image

Im playing Asherons Call 2 trial right now, and im have fun, graphics are great, lvling is fun, and the story quests are really cool, doesn't look like something that will last very long though for me. Charecter creation is not there and no npc vendors, everything is crafted.

First, tell us what you want in a MMORPG. Second, World of Warcraft isn't out yet. Third, please don't play Lineage II, it's a massive grindfest with little content until you get above level 40-50 (which takes so long to get).

Lineage II is infected with CHINESE, not asian, botters, they pk anyone who gets in their way when they are adena farming. They also tend to go "GO! OR PK!", if you don't go away they kill you. Fun eh?

Ok, so you played one year of SWG to realize that it's very buggy, laggy, next to no customer support, devs suck, and the forums are stupid?::::36::

I rarely meet any japanese speaking people. It all depends when your online or where you live. Japanese time is close to 16-19 hours ahead of North America. (16 hours from PST to Tokyo). So if you play at night/very early in the morning, you might meet alot of japanese players and not that much english, but during the daytime, you usually meet english speaking people, very less japanese.

It also depends what server your on. Some english speaking people usually research about which servers has the most english speaking people and try to get on that server.
