You're soo hilarious WoWfan123, in as much that you aren't, at all.
Seems that EQ2 fans can be stereotyped as stereotypers, who just discovered parody, and hold a belief that they are intellectually superior to players of "lesser" games. Not being able to handle their game isn't as widely regarded as WoW, you throw mud around the forums of other games in an attempt to add weight your false prejudices about other gamers.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
Oh but there are so many things to love! The great community, the sense of being part of something important, the astounding graphics, the complex gameplay...wait, this is about World of Warcraft? Oops, I guess none of that applies then.
What did I like most about WoW? The ATMOSPHERE. There was just something that did it for me during those first couple of days running around Tirisfal Glades, the sound played a big part I think.
the ONE thing I like about wow...thats a easy one.... It keeps all of the retards in one place so they dont muck about on the other MMOs.
Actually we "retards" do migrate to EVE on a regular basis, you'll find us in Jita, in most pirate corps, in 0.0 space, and actually, in every major alliance in EVE.
That aftershave you're wearing.. I almost recognize the fragrance... is it Elitism, Pretentiousness or Ignorance?
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
2. My real life friends that live too far away to visit still play it with me
3. It doesn't make you a geek to play it.
4. I like the music, and the atmosphere.
5. The zones are well designed, and all very different from each other for the most part.
That's pretty much all my thoughts about it, I can easily see how people don't like it. I quit it and came back probably 7 times. The PvP itemization really drives me nuts, and the fact that no matter how well you play your class.. you'll get beat by someone with better gear 3 out of 5 times.
Well after playing almost half year in the game I may admit I loved the lore of the game, and the huge mesmerizing world Blizzard created,I loved to Role Play in the game and just to explore.I guess that part was the most addictive to me but I quited after the BC came out so yet maybe once I'll get back to my character :]...
The one thing I loved about WoW was Duskwood. I really enjoyed that zone. The quests were well thought out with interesting stories. I dont think any other zone in WoW was as well done. The whole little event that happens when Stitches comes to town was a nice touch. That fatty killed me more times than Id like to remember but it was always funny when it happened.
The only thing that comes a close second was running the deadmines for the first time. That place oozed atmosphere. Good times. To bad the end game content wasnt as enjoyable as the leveling.
One thing I love: It seems to attract much of the young kid mentality, and pervs, so there are far less in other games. For this, I am very happy it exists.
Man some of the trolling here is of the WoW official forums quality. So much hate..for a game! Anyways, everything fits well (until TBC and the Drenai still scratching my head over that one) with each other, the classes, the zones the equipment. It's a cohesive game.
Raiding for up to 6 hours a night or I loose my guild spot - Oh Wait no didn't like that. Arena and pvp, war without the chaos of many opponents in a room smaller than a battlefield building- Oh Wait no didn't like that. Farming gold in order to pay for my repair costs in the form of daily quests or otherwise - Oh Wait no didn't like that. Competing for mobs with gold farmers - Oh Wait no didn't like that. Trying to find a group that didn't entail muppets - Oh Wait no didn't like that. Epic arms race that drove some people insane enough to screw over gaming friends and the race to catch up with the top guilds - Oh Wait no didn't like that. Every expansion so far increasing the level cap with new top end raiding instances to grind practically for the next load of loot again. - Oh Wait no didn't like that. What I did like though was the sound of a gnome dieing when I killed it in pvp.
I don't play WoW anymore, but having played several MMOs now I can definately say the UI is probably the strongest point of the game, regardless of your play style. It's unobtrusive and totally customizable, something I haven't seen anywhere else.
Originally posted by ProfRed I love the way they made Priest be able to heal and be a pretty wicked damage dealer.
As much as I dislike WoW, this is what I liked, my priest started out as all holy but I changed it to shadow/holy and it's a monster. I bet it's even better now with the recent patch changes, it's tempting me to resubscribe to check it out but I might not bother until I return home from my holidays after new year's.
Also what most of the responses in this thread pointed out, the ability to solo, I've been in a few different guilds and they fall apart because people are busy soloing and not caring about instances that much.
Since I answered why I hated it, here is why I loved it-
OOOOOOO I loved being a mace rogue, popping out of nowhere and pwning was the best. Yes I died a lot, but I also was able to break frontlines, and assist in almost any raid. Not the easiest of choices, but heh, I tend towards the most difficult of classes in any mmorpg.

Now after many years of wow gaming there is only three things that I still like.
1. Hanging out with my friends
2. New PvE encounters, but only the first kill.
3. Arena, its great. The 2.3 patch was great aswelll it made it possible for me to jump from 150 resiliance to 385 :>
A life? Where can I download one of those?

Probably the fact that WoW gave birth to Leeroy Jenkins.
The shear concept of fantasy that grasped you whilst playing and running through new lands

For an unknown reason, i always come back to WoW (this time as Paladin)

The fact that WoW pushed crappy games like V:SOH out of the market. Studios aren't as quick to push stinking piles of garbage out the door now.

Oh, cruel fate, to be thusly boned. Ask not for whom the bone bones. It bones for thee.

If I post what i like about Wow I'll probably be baned, so I'll dont say it.
We call these people asshats in wow...
