will there be a new server when they release the new expansion, ?

No. If anything there has been a lot of (unofficial) talk about server merges, what considering that at least a couple servers don't even have 2k people online at peak hours.
Last time the released a new server it was announce some weeks before the new chronicle and since they haven't done so yet I'm fairly sure there won't be a new server.
You can change servers though.

Actually, there will eventually be a new server. At least there are plans for one.
Some sort of Alternate rules server is being considered though they haven't decided what type of rule set they will adopt.

don't bother if your doing it to have a cautch up in the pvp, 4 month's after Franz lanched they pretty much had 76+ requriement's on some clan's so it's just botter's stepping on legal's
Honestly, I'm more into pve than pvp anyway, but that's beside the point.
I just figured I'd have a chance to get my foot in the door financially if a new server opened up before the botters ruin, yet another, enconomy.

One of the fansites (Warcry or L2 Vault) had an interview with Spam and Alyra. One of the questions that came up was for alternate servers. They indicated that they were looking into creating some sort of alternate rules server. However, they did not know how it would manifest itself. It could be a limited PvP (aka pve server) or it could be one where characters were limited to lvl 40 and with raised rates so this way it promotes pvp (people less worried about "uber gear or dying) or any numbrer of things.
Then one of the sites did a poll to see if players wanted an alternate rules server, what type of one would they want.
There is no indication when this would happen or what type of server it would be.
As it is now, players are waiting with "baited breath" for the final announcment of when they will start server transfers. it was supposed to be by the release of "The Kamael" but was then postponed while they did some final testing. There will also be name changes and sex changes.

I strongly agree that a new server should be open.

most off the server's are light and the one's who are actly on Heavry they's no telling how many off em are farmer's, so its highly unlikely that they's gonna come another server...
btw they talked about character transfer's and such year's ago and we still don't have it so just because they talked about it dosen't mean it's ever gonna happen
As far as transfers, they are happening. They are currently being tested in the U.S. on internal servers along with sex changes and name changes.
That is farther along than we have ever had. So they are imminent. Given that, it is possible that a new server could happen. It's just the "when" which is at issue.
And that is a huge issue. That is one problem with NC Korea, they are so arrogant that they could have done any of these things in the past 3+ years (almost 4 years) but they didn't. Hate them so much.

the only alternative server's i know off in korea are pve server's where it's not open pvp and 30% increase in drop's, exp and such so i doubt we get thoes or any other server's with other rules.
btw about server transfear's your not devoloping it are you :P, so you can't be know and i have no reason to trust anything that's said from NCsoft side...

Just to mention, I don't lie or make things up. Never have, never will. I'm as "straight a shooter" as you will find in an online game. If I say something then I actually read it. However, I will most always get names wrong as I seem to have problems with that.

Don't stress Sovrath,You don't need to go to that length to justify yourself, as an ardent member of the L2 community for years now ppl should know you, esp if they have visited the official boards.
WRT quoting articles, just bookmark them. Thats what I do. If I find an interesting piece of news or trivia that I know I may need to quote someday in a discussion thread or something, I just bookmark the article in a special folder I've created just for this purpose. I prune the folder every couple of moths when issues become irrelevant.

well i don't think we get diffrenet alternative server's then Korean's get, talk is just talk after all everytime you petion a bot they tell you they look into it...
so i don't really belive in what NCsoft say's but your right your not lying or making thing's up i read the interveiw's and forum post's to.

Thanks Sorrowho. I guess it is more than dissapointing to constantly petition and still see the same bots day after day. Or realize that there is so much that NC Korea could have done with the game and even started to do (inter server olympiad competition that was done "once") but never really went all the way.
