I didnt know that water can burn. Have any of you ever seen water catch on fire?!? I sure havent. And if you look at the boats in the game there made out of wood. Why would you sail in to fire with a wooden ship. Unless the water your sailing on is acid. Why would you want to sail on acid seas. You cant catch anything, as I pretty sure nothing can live in acid. And if you where to fish in the acid seas wouldnt it be dangerous to handle the nets?!? Nets soak in acid, come on, I sure dont want to touch that.
But then why would you be a fisherman when this game is called pirates of the burning sea?!? And if you where to be a pirate why would you want to be a pirate on the hellish seas?!? There wont be any vessels going your way because the sea burns. Wouldnt it be better to be a pirate on a good sea, where there lot of vessels to pirate from?!?
Then why would you want to be a pirate of a sea, when you can be a pirate of an ocean. Have you even seen a sea, seas are pretty much small, and I bet armies can attack you off shores from 4 points. Not much to be a seaman when you can be an oceanman.

Burning sea is a term given to the caribean due to the fire coral I believe which causes you to have a burning sensation if you touch it. So pirates of the burning sea is an appropriate name.
It can, just need radio waves

Guess you've never seen when oil spills on water and it gets all ...hmm.. on FIRE ...
Boats the size of a pirate ship don't just turn on a dime if someone was to slick the water and set it on fire making it a 'burning' sea it'd be really hard to go around it if you were always charging in that direction.

I believe this is where the name came from.
The Night of the Burning Sea:
“I recall the evening quite vividly, even now, almost fifty years later. How could I forget? Never before or since in my long life have I been witness to such pure malice and cruelty as I was on that night…
... Cortés was backed into a corner. The bay that had kept him hidden while he loaded his ships with prisoners and gold had also served to trap him. As we closed on him, Hernán Cortés did the unthinkable. Realizing that he was outgunned and facing an impossible fight, he lit his entire fleet on fire and set them adrift…
... the ships came together, the flames grew. The large bay outside Puerto del Principe became a roiling sea of red and orange. In his haste to keep us from seizing his treasure, Cortés didn’t bother to release the prisoners from their bonds, and they, along with his ships and gold, were consumed by the fires…
... I remember the sun setting and the flames growing to their largest height. The light from the fires was a false second sun—visible as far east as Mathew Town, as far west as Trinidad, and as far south as Port Royale…
... Thousands died when Cortés’s fleet was torched to the waterline by his own hand—an event now known as the Night of the Burning Sea. ”

Even thoe it was answered, its some-what common sence that it is called "Burning Sea" because of the sun set reflection on the sea.
On a calm moonless night I looked out and saw 25 Pirate ships on fire or exploding. The sea looked like it was on FIRE.
