Not everything Has to be a WOW killer

I hear a lot about a bunch of different games like POTBS and TR. And from wht i get "I actually had someone tell me this in person also" ppl say they were expecting like a wow killer....and so because its not they dnt try it or they just start bashing it......Not everything has to be a wow kill it can just be an MMORPG........

 

Sry just had to say something not try to start a riot but you now u can play an MMORPG w/o it being amazing(Me a PvE/PvP-makes me really open to it)

    You have a very good point.  Take CoX, fantastic game, but I think a lot of people don't play it, because they think its not that popular. 



    This is something that has me worried about the future of MMOs.  It is a popularity content to some degree.

    Well that should come as good news to developers because so far nothing has been a WoW killer.

    Yes Developers, why dont you just make games that are good and not worry about WoW.

    Besides, i dont want a game to come along and kill WoW. I want WoW to die alone in a cockroach filled 1 bedroom apartment somewhere that i have never heard of.

    I think a lot of people are judging the new releases against WoW. I agree, that is the wrong way to look at any game. Break it down to a fundamental question, Are you having fun playing it? If so, then its a good MMORPG.

    It does always make me wonder why so many people who dont play WoW, still care about its existance

    WoW players care about the contents WoW has to offer.

    Non-WoW players care about other good games not falling victim to WoW's success.

    Developers care about the characteristics that made WoW so popular.

    Other companies care about taking part in something that can be as much of a WoW as WoW.

    Everyone cares about WoW! :)

    There will be no WOW killer.  Just like every other MMO, only time and the combination of several newer MMO's (and possibly developer stupidity) will kill WOW.  We don't want a WOW killer.  Then, we'd have to sit through another 4 years of every single f#cking MMO trying to copy the new "king".

    WoW killer?  wouldn't that effectivly be a boring mainstream MMO anyways?

     

    kinda pointless what people are asking for, eh?

    I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

    any player that is really looking for there next immersion into MMo does not care about WOW and if it will kill it or not they are looking for a game that gives them what they crave.If you look on this site alone there alot of players without a MMo atm and that has nothing to do with the fact WOW is still around it is only because no game has came out that is out of that mold imo.I look to the future and atm I look to tCoS,It will be no WOW killer as you put it but I couldnt care less as long as it comes out to around 75% of my high hopes I am a very happy gamer once again.

    Good. Now if we can do this to the other terrible MMOs out there, we might get the VCs to listen and invest in the proper dev teams to produce quality products. But I kid. ;)

    Speaking for myself and perhaps others, I do not want a WoW-killer.

     

    I want something different from WoW; it is why I am perhaps enjoying Vanguard so much.

     

    I want world immersion, challenging gameplay, fun and intense combat, inter alia.  I am happy where I am at, at least for now.
