Dell making WoW themed laptops
Very cool. However, a PhysX card for WoW? Why? It will do nothing but add weight, heat, and power consumption.

Not bad for $4,499. However i'd rather save $1,000+ without the customizations and freebies.
I would rather spend $4000 on a Tablet PC, because then it would have an actual use everywhere and would have something over a Desktop.
thats one expensive laptop.
They do it because if they add a couple high end flashy parts they can tag another grand onto it and believe themselves justified...and the uneducated masses will buy it and think they have the best that money can buy.
That's why you see dumb things like a 2.8ghz quad core gaming pc with 1ghz ddr2 667mhz ram, a 500gb HD and like, a nvidia 8400gt for a couple grand. There's a sucker born every day.

OMG the artwork adds +100 FPS to every game OMG I must get one!!!!
And physX add in won't do crap for WOW since WOW doesn't use any PhysX in it's game. And also that PhysX really only added 3 FPS to Crysis if anyone has that addin card by Ageia. A waste of power consumption if you ask me.
PhysX doesn't do anything for Crysis. Crysis uses its own proprietary physics engine that the PhysX cards do not accelerate.

Yeah duh I know that, but if you use the method on the net to get it to work with crysis it only added 3fps in a review I seen. Remember when it was a big deal when this was released then the reviews all showed the benchmarks to be lower FPS then without it. I think it is all garbage and any game built around it using it's own internal physix is a better option like you said internally controlled from the game engine.
If you guys knew anything about PhysX, I wouldn't sit here and LAFF my ass off.
PhysX isn't supposed to take the workload of your GFX card. It's supposed to add more physical parts into the game. Meaning the explosions will look better etc etc...
But yes, WoW doesn't use PhysX(Yet, it can be implemented), so it has no purpose. But since this is just a normal Dell XPS, with an added WoW badge, I don't see why it shouldnt have the same spec as a Dell XPS. Besides a PhysX card isnt the part that makes this item cost a grand more than the normal XPS laptop.

That's a very sarcastic attitude to take when you are wrong about something. There is no method to get Crysis to use the PhysX cards. Theer were some false rumors that peopel did use the PhysX cards, but they were just that, rumors.
