since eq 2 is another soe product has this caused you to a) reconsider playing swg, b) re evaulate any interest in soe?
just wondering if there decision caused you to re act with your wallet and not just your anger?

Different teams have different ways of doing things. While the SWG team thinks it is more important to get their expansion done right and then do the combat revamp, the EQ team decided it was more important to iron out their many bugs and put their next expansion off. So, I think EQ2 will depend completely on the EQ2 team. If I were going to draw a conclusion, I would think they would go closer to the EQ example of delaying the expansion than the SWG example of delaying the revamp since SOE is running EQ all by themselves, but they have to work with Lucas Arts on SWG.
I am not one of thoes people who hate SOE or have negative things to say about them. I have been playing their games for years now, with many good experiences and some bad. I have seen no different in any other company in this business.
Just because development decisions don't go the way I want, it doesn't mean that the game will necessarily be a bad game, either. I turned my back on Middle Earth Online because of that very reason, however. I have faith in SOE to make the right decision most of the time when it comes to their mmorpgs, they are one of the biggest and best at what they do.
When it all comes down to it, I have fun playing Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies, so I believe that Everquest II will be no different and will be a fun game, no matter which decision they make.
If they do make a mistake that leads to the game becoming less fun, well then there are many others out there to try, and that might be the day I take a look at World of Warcraft. So you see there are many other pressures on the developers and publishers this day in age, not only from the people playing, but from rival companies competing in the industry. It makes things better for us and hopefully keeps decision makers on their toes . . .
Different teams may have different ways of doing things, however the management company is still SOE and how SOE handle issues will always be the same $$$ before all else. I maintain my current EQ account (but I haven't played since I got my WoW account) and I won't be investing in any other SOE product. Ever!
Yes, SOE puts out some pretty decent products. But there support and follow through is weak. I play these games and expect to enjoy them, however, when the known flaws/bugs in a game go ignored to add new content and players are hasseled/banned for exploiting known flaws/bugs (that aren't being fixed)... it's time to move on

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.
People are way too frikkin uptight about things. You find out SOE is coming out with this and that for this and that game, yay, weeee, woohoooooo! Oh no whats this, they pushed it back????? DAMN you SOE! I hate you! Im boycotting you! Never play an SOE game!! They suck!!!
Funny thing is youre in the same exact place as you were before they told you any information in the first place, and were completely satisfied.
Laying in bed, looking up at the stars, a single thought passed through my head. Where the fuck is my roof?

Verant/SOE has been doing this since 1998. Why would you start reconsidering now?
Exactly
Unlike one of the above posters, I *am* one of those that won't buy anymore SOE/Verant products :P
