I've "beat" the game. Have you? Are you high enough level to even know WTF i'm talking about? Are you even level20? 30? 40? 50? Day 1 and 2 of release I couldn't even play the game due to stupid bugs and horrid performance. Had to wait for a stinking patch just to play. What a joke. Even VG wasn't this bad. Made it to level 40 in VG with no issues, but some FPS issues and a random crash every 4 or more hours.. not a big deal. Yet I'd DC or crash every 30mins in TR? This has been fixed mostly except for the DCs sense the network code is garbage.
Holy cow! Krileon beat the game! They may as well shut the game down. Everyone shoudl cancel the subs. For the first time in MMO history, an MMORPG has been beat and we got to see it right here!
Even more amazing is...he did with a late start...first patch was what, 9 days after launch so he started 9 days after the rest of us and had DCs every 30 minutes and yet he hit lvl 50 AND beat the game.

You see if you do every mission from level1 to 50 you'll have them all done. That's the entire game. All of it. Every stinging last damn quest. DONE. Then you're level50. Now what? No more quests. No more instances. No need for any newer gear. Nothing. No alternative. Sure i'll clone.. mess around.. waste a few minutes.. make a crafter clone.. try to transfer.. remember that footlockers are bugged beyond all repair.
I also didn't buy on release day. So no.. I didn't wait 9 days and DC every 30minutes for 9 days. I played 2 days before patch. Luckly I did too or I would have never even made it this far.
It got worse and worse as I played, but I kept trying.. I wanted to see if it got better.. it doesn't. So keep telling your self it does.. it might work.. who knows. Maybe you just like shallow games? Beats me.
When you've done all missions and are max level with decent gear you've beat the game, because there is NOTHING else to do... Getting a max crafter is 1 clone away and 5 minutes of clicking stupid buttons.. TADAA.. that was a big accomplishment.. lol

This isn't a damn MMO. It's a wannabe FPS as far as i'm concerned. There is NO NEED for the community beyond help to take a CP.. even then in most cases you can atk/defend solo easily.

Also getting to level50 is VERY easy. Can be done in 2 weeks or maybe less time.
I played roughly 5 hours a day. I just played properly. If I got hung up I didn't attempt it 50 times. I moved on after 1 failure and returned later levels. The game is toddler style easy. I dare say.. easier then WOW.. which is pathetic when you think about it. You don't even need to think beyond which wpn type you need equiped and if the mobs color is ok to start blasting at.
So please still do beat around the bush and provide no counter arguement. You're looking more like a fanboi every post.

Still playing it and loving it! I too am in it for the long haul as well.
I am about to hit level 25 and still find the game fun as hell. Me and 4 other online buddies are having a grand ole time now. Will it still be like this in a few months as we creep closer to 50? Who knows and who cares. I am not worried at this point on what to expect when I am level 50. It beats the hell out of staring at the wall and waiting for the next big thing to hit the screen.
(The game is definetly fun when you got your family / buddies to play with and vent / teamspeak makes it even better for conversation).
All that I know is that you play games to have fun time and if the game can keep you attracted to it, then its doing its job. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same game as you, but be rest assured, people always come back when they leave a mmo. Well at least 50% do. haha

Started in Beta. Purchased the Collectors Edition at release and still playing. Iam not rushing through the areas tho. I take my time to explore and enjoy the game. Reached lvl 31 with my main (Grenadier). Good game.

Actually in my unbiased point of view (unbiased because I don't own the game and only played FP 'beta' to level 20 and actually thought it was a nice game.)

It's really that simple. Every successful mmo has stuff for you to do once you've done all the missions, quests and have your armor. PvP is pretty major, and then you have your raids a la WoW, or high level zones and 'raids' like in FFXI....
If there's really no incentive to play after you've reach 50 and completed all the content, then you've got a major problem and it needs to be addressed pronto, especially if leveling is that easy for the hardcore player..
I highly doubt its that someone didn't think ahead. I think its more like they were running out of time because NCSoft wanted to ship the game out. I'm sure they have higher level content planned... they may have made mistakes, but I don't think they're incompetent. We'll see higher level content soon I'm sure.
And yes, I'm still playing. So far two people have upgraded the trial keys I sent out so I have two more free months.

So other then the fast paced combat allowing one to to kill the same mobs from level 1 top level 50 what is good about the game? So far no one seems to be able to give a answer and instead just flames those that point out the negatives. No really give us some positives? ALso are you really surprised that there are negatives posted in this thread after all its asking why did we leave, what did you expect " Umm I left because the game was just waayyy to much fun!"?

A lot of what Krileon is saying is true. He gives plenty of reasons as to why he doesnt like the game. If you do not like his reasons, shrug. I agree that the pay to beta idea is trash. Vanguard did it, Tabula rasa did it, a lot of games are doing it. An MMO is never finished, but there is a fine line between beta and polished and by no means was Tabula Rasa polished. I wont pay nor support a company that releases garbage, expects me to pay while they clean up its trash...

Sorry to burst your bubble the world just doesn't work that way. The less players the less income. Less money made means less reinvested in the game. Less Devs developing new content. Less bug fixes and over all Less chance the game will ever reach its potential. Umm you seem a bit confused, Whats the title of the thread again? Also please reread from the beginning He asked several times before stating he beat the game that you tell him what else there was to do beside kill. You instead ignored everything he asked but jumped on his statement and only that one thing that he beat the game. He didn't come up with it after the fact you just have ignored it (I'm guessing because like he's been saying you don't have any answers)

I do hope they get around to updating the game, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around an mmo that gets released without anything for people that will grind to 50 in a few weeks.. Even if they rushed the game out, I could see lack of content overall the levels, but it seems it's pretty much at later levels you hit a wall. Unless I'm missing something?
With arenas coming maybe that'll add more gameplay, and I hear there's guild vs guild? That's gotta count for something? Also from a few fan sites out there I get a major drift that this game is still pretty much in beta... I understand the need to adjust and tweak things around after release but when you're still fixing bugs people submitted months ago and still adding your major features and content..... Something's not right, at least not for today when the market has evolve.
But if people are enjoying it, the more power to them, my interest in the game is in the hope it doesn't sink as if it would that might hurt NCsoft, or not, but it can't be a good thing if it goes under.
And if people want to defend their game, go ahead but provide some good examples why you are, I've seen a few people on the forum do so, but a lot just bash people who don't like the game calling them trolls and so on.. Be careful what you call others is all I can say ^^
Like I said I left the game for a few reasons and I would love to come back. I just want more of finished game. I understand that this game will always change,grow and never really be complete. I feel It was not really ready to come out. I wish them luck and I will keep checking on the updates made. I hope to be back soon.
How many years was this game in development? I havent played it but from what im reading im glad i didnt buy it..
The game has been in development since 2001 but they scrapped everything and started a major revamp sometime in 2005. So basically what you see is not quite 2 years of work.
The game IS fun, it just needs more content at the higher levels. I think if you played the game you would agree that there is a ton of potential and things to expand on.
I read lots of reviews and just said heck with it, I'll try it for myself and I'm glad I did. I have two more free months on top of the initial free month due to trial keys being upgraded, so... I'm looking forward to the next few months to see what happens.

I still fail to see a valid arguement from you or anyone else that proves me wrong.
You see if you do every mission from level1 to 50 you'll have them all done. That's the entire game. All of it. Every stinging last damn quest. DONE. Then you're level50. Now what? No more quests. No more instances. No need for any newer gear. Nothing. No alternative. Sure i'll clone.. mess around.. waste a few minutes.. make a crafter clone.. try to transfer.. remember that footlockers are bugged beyond all repair.
I also didn't buy on release day. So no.. I didn't wait 9 days and DC every 30minutes for 9 days. I played 2 days before patch. Luckly I did too or I would have never even made it this far.
It got worse and worse as I played, but I kept trying.. I wanted to see if it got better.. it doesn't. So keep telling your self it does.. it might work.. who knows. Maybe you just like shallow games? Beats me.
When you've done all missions and are max level with decent gear you've beat the game, because there is NOTHING else to do... Getting a max crafter is 1 clone away and 5 minutes of clicking stupid buttons.. TADAA.. that was a big accomplishment.. lol
Maybe I played too much.. 5hours a day.. beats me.. but others seam to agree with my posts.
This isn't a damn MMO. It's a wannabe FPS as far as i'm concerned. There is NO NEED for the community beyond help to take a CP.. even then in most cases you can atk/defend solo easily.
So I say again. I have my arguement still.. where's yours? I've highlight good, bad, ugly in the game. I've addressed several key issues and discussed several good things. All you've done as well as other optimistic players is bash my posts or flame me. Try again. You = Epic Fail.

Also getting to level50 is VERY easy. Can be done in 2 weeks or maybe less time.
I played roughly 5 hours a day. I just played properly. If I got hung up I didn't attempt it 50 times. I moved on after 1 failure and returned later levels. The game is toddler style easy. I dare say.. easier then WOW.. which is pathetic when you think about it. You don't even need to think beyond which wpn type you need equiped and if the mobs color is ok to start blasting at.
So please still do beat around the bush and provide no counter arguement. You're looking more like a fanboi every post.

Still playing it and loving it! I too am in it for the long haul as well.
I am about to hit level 25 and still find the game fun as hell. Me and 4 other online buddies are having a grand ole time now. Will it still be like this in a few months as we creep closer to 50? Who knows and who cares. I am not worried at this point on what to expect when I am level 50. It beats the hell out of staring at the wall and waiting for the next big thing to hit the screen.
(The game is definetly fun when you got your family / buddies to play with and vent / teamspeak makes it even better for conversation).
All that I know is that you play games to have fun time and if the game can keep you attracted to it, then its doing its job. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same game as you, but be rest assured, people always come back when they leave a mmo. Well at least 50% do. haha

Started in Beta. Purchased the Collectors Edition at release and still playing. Iam not rushing through the areas tho. I take my time to explore and enjoy the game. Reached lvl 31 with my main (Grenadier). Good game.
Actually in my unbiased point of view (unbiased because I don't own the game and only played FP 'beta' to level 20 and actually thought it was a nice game.)
You fail to understand his point; an mmo with no END game = Death.
It's really that simple. Every successful mmo has stuff for you to do once you've done all the missions, quests and have your armor. PvP is pretty major, and then you have your raids a la WoW, or high level zones and 'raids' like in FFXI....
If there's really no incentive to play after you've reach 50 and completed all the content, then you've got a major problem and it needs to be addressed pronto, especially if leveling is that easy for the hardcore player..

I highly doubt its that someone didn't think ahead. I think its more like they were running out of time because NCSoft wanted to ship the game out. I'm sure they have higher level content planned... they may have made mistakes, but I don't think they're incompetent. We'll see higher level content soon I'm sure.

Humm still don't see your answer to his point, What else is there to do in the game besides Kill? Also whats is the end game; you beat the aliens so now its time to kill your fellow humans? yeah that goes real well with the story buildup.
So other then the fast paced combat allowing one to to kill the same mobs from level 1 top level 50 what is good about the game? So far no one seems to be able to give a answer and instead just flames those that point out the negatives. No really give us some positives? ALso are you really surprised that there are negatives posted in this thread after all its asking why did we leave, what did you expect " Umm I left because the game was just waayyy to much fun!"?
A lot of what Krileon is saying is true. He gives plenty of reasons as to why he doesnt like the game. If you do not like his reasons, shrug. I agree that the pay to beta idea is trash. Vanguard did it, Tabula rasa did it, a lot of games are doing it. An MMO is never finished, but there is a fine line between beta and polished and by no means was Tabula Rasa polished. I wont pay nor support a company that releases garbage, expects me to pay while they clean up its trash...

My post pointed out his claims to having beaten the game and how that is insane since you can't beat an MMO and he came back with that lamearse post telling me to prove something. I told him to prove he beat the game. I'm not the one that has anything to prove. I never made that claim. Up to speed now?

Also please reread from the beginning He asked several times before stating he beat the game that you tell him what else there was to do beside kill. You instead ignored everything he asked but jumped on his statement and only that one thing that he beat the game. He didn't come up with it after the fact you just have ignored it (I'm guessing because like he's been saying you don't have any answers)

I do hope they get around to updating the game, but I have a hard time wrapping my head around an mmo that gets released without anything for people that will grind to 50 in a few weeks.. Even if they rushed the game out, I could see lack of content overall the levels, but it seems it's pretty much at later levels you hit a wall. Unless I'm missing something?
With arenas coming maybe that'll add more gameplay, and I hear there's guild vs guild? That's gotta count for something?
