What is vaporware, exactly?

So I was hearing that all FFA PVP games are considered to be 'vaporware', but nobody has yet explained what vaporware is!
I have always been a fan of FFA PVP, since people who pve are usually very mindless and can't handle any sort of competition.
I also was told that WoW is a form of vaporware - but since WoW is successful that should mean darkfall will be the next big thing.

Vaporware is a software or hardware product which is announced by a developer well in advance of release, but which then fails to emerge, either with or without a protracted development cycle. The term implies unwarranted optimism, or sometimes even deception; that is, it may imply that the announcer knows that product development is in too early a stage to support responsible statements about its completion date, feature set, or even feasibility.

Basically Vaporware could be used to describe Darkfall.
Darkfall is a great SOUNDING game with lots of promised features in it and outdated graphics. But as of yet the community has yet to see evidence that its actually ever going to be released so its called Vaporware instead of software as Vapour Evaporates. hence the term VAPOR - ware.

Because they obviously had no idea what vaporware means. Even if you hate a certain game, it ceases to be vaporware once it's released.
Dukenukem forever = a well known fact vaporware!
Darkfall= Just under construction in its final stage!
Becouse its all handcrafted and world is huge plus it will be very diverse enviroments this takes a longtime to build it the developers of adventurine take there time to make this game a polish as it can be no rushed game and fail becouse its not finished like so many have in the past.
Its completely rebuild from cratch in 2003 so its in devolopment for 4 years now (wow took 5years) so i dont see any problem here you?
I think most are attacking darkfall so much becouse its becomming are real threath(i seems to fail why) to all carebears that there will finally a game for hardcore pvp.
This game is real alive and kicking mark my words:)

3D Realms just announced "Duke Nukem 4 Ever" is back and kicking in production ( check the trailer on gamespot)
Does that mean there is actually a chance for DARKFALL!?
FFA PvP is ok in my book, but it promotes ganking and that is NEVER ok to me. Ganking to me is something that people do when they have nothing better to do with their lives and time.
But anyways on topic Vaporware is any game that is announced, gains hype, and never releases.
A perfect example of this is......Darkfall
Nice loyalty DF fanboi.. but Adventurine has yet to debunk this games "vaporware" status. Perhaps you should read thier development "archive" which has been going on its hit and miss stage scince 2001.

10 pages of "updates" and yet no publisher. Hmm 6 years of no interest by major publishers. I thought this was a soild idea for MMO's!!! A TON of broken promises by Tasos. Claims of problems HIRING beta testers when they could open FREE beta testing to a select few and solve the problem. The list goes on and on.
If this game ever sees a store shelf it will be nothing short of a miracle. The only greater miracle will be getting the roughly 30,000 DF fan bois to produce enough effective income for this ship to NOT sink.
Its AVENTURINE, not ADventurine. Goddamnit, if people are to come here and say they dont wanna play a game as DF.....please.... atleast spell the name right.
