How's "ProjectQuest" coming along?

Billius8Billius8 Member Posts: 574

"Two newly released screenshots...."

"Friends and family members of employees might be starting in-house beta testing sometime in the future..."

"Confirmation that the game will release sometime in 2004...2005?..."

"Because we want this game to be the best ever, we will not rush it..."

"Alan Greenspan has no predictions on when Everquest II will be coming out, but he thinks the interest rate will be raised at least three or four times before then..."

C'mon, Sony.  Get this game out.  Patch in the higher level content if that's still lacking.

If SOE really thinks EQ2 is gonna be ready by the end of this year, get ready for another bugfest a la SWG.

Don't see why your complaining about it comming out this year.  If they pushed it back any longer this game would evolve to a higher lvl of intellegence and conqure the world.  WoW fans don't want that....do they?

I don't think Everquest II will come out before the end of this year.  I predict March or April of 2005.  It's a huge game and SOE knows it, I don't blame them for working on it as long as it takes.  I would have preferred if they held onto Star Wars Galaxies for longer to touch up on all of th bugs and broken pieces of the game.

From what I have read, EQ2 is already in pretty good shape, but there is so much content, the game is going to be so huge, it just takes time to build it.  I think it sucks that we have to wait, but in the end we'll be getting a better, more complete game, hopefully.

World of Warcraft is moving along the same lines.  The game, from what I've heard, is coming along and is getting polished as it goes.

Both games will definitely go through a long beta period, but not as long as usual, I think, because more time and attention seems to be taken in building it right the first time around.  There will always be bugs and balance issues, but Blizzard and SOE are refining the process of creating a mmorpg, or so it seems to me . . .

We won't know for sure until the final versions are out and we are playing . . .  put them both on your Christmas list, because you won't see either of them before that.

It's already been tested up to levels 1-40 (and getting past 40 will take a long time). It will be released in 2004.

Don't think that EQ2 is going to be that much like EQ. From what I'm reading, EQ2 is being set up more for the casual gamer. I remember when AC1 fans thought AC2 would be the same kind of game with better graphics and came away disappointed. I'm not saying don't play the game, I am saying go into EQ2 like it is a totally new and different game. I personally don't like EQ very much, too much of a level grind at low levels and hard to learn all of the controls. But EQ2 looks alot better from what I've read so far.

I could care less if EQ2 came out this year since I'm not going to be playing it but the fact that it isn't even in active beta yet (whereas WoW has been for many months now and will most likely be done by November or December) proves that if SOE doesn't want another bugfest a la SWG, they're gonna wait until maybe Spring of 2005 for it to go gold.

But if SOE is still in that crazy mindset of releasing something before it's finished, then yes... EQ2 WILL come out before years end...

600 people have already been testing it for a few months now. And it will be open to the public in a week or so. The game will be out for 2004. And if they release it by december it will have little to no bugs. But i think it will release in fall.

If you could care less about eq2 then why the hell do you come in here stateing it to the fans when we dont give a sh**. Also good luck to you with WoW. I was watching paratrooper play it last night on the refresh cam and i saw nothing special about the game , looked same ol same old to me with warcraft settings and monsters.

I hope you're right.  I'm in my 40's now, so too much longer and I'll be too old to play these games.

Maybe you should go ask the same question to the EQ2 trolls over in the WoW boards...

And besides, we're all entitled to our own opinions. I'm voicing them here.

At least one could hope that they got better at estimating release time as the games go by. I think i will go insanely (well, more so anyway) if i see 1 more delay....image

    Who am i kidding,....

But, seriously, it would be nice if a proper estimate could come out. I know that it is often nessessary to adjust the release date as it approaches BUT there is a huge difference in delaying a few weeks and delaying 3-4 months when the "supposed" release date is only a couple of weeks away.

Well, time will tell i guess...
