That's just not true. Everyone that played this game back then knows it  was moved. It was also announced that it was moved.

Maybe for the cry-babies on the US server it was, but the real pilots over on EU had the luxury of Emma staying right where she was till the servers merged. I started in 2002, a few short months after retail went live and she was in the exact same location for the 3 straight years i played, so unless you believe she was moved in Beta, then you're sadly mistaken that it happened otherwise.

People who hit Emma did so because of their lack of skill more than anything else, not because it was in anyones way at all. Why Emma gets all the attention anyway , i cant fathom, given the micro-roid smack in the flight path down in Quant space, the sector name eludes me currently but im sure i can find it somewhere.

If you think there is a post anywhere stating she was moved then stick a link to it here and i'll eat my words baked in some humble pie, but like i said before, all Emma had was a reskin, a new texture colour for that type of roid (semi iirc) making it lighter and brighter and easier to see. Also, roid locations were hard-coded and static, aside from pures, Emma was a feature that everyone loved so why on earth would they move it anyway, leaving other gate-to-gate roids in other sectors alone for people to hit ? Too much rose-tinted memory around about JG these days.

As for memories, I remember the death sentence that was flying HG into another faction's core system... as one of my squaddies always drawled into the mic, "Wars start that way son..."

Another fond memory is towing flux in the outer third with buddies picking the stuff off your tail and helping you level. nice.

My favorite memory of all though would have to be finding a jellyfish (not long after they introduced the jellyfish) in QC.

I slid on up to him in my Phoon and was watching him apparently stuck to the side of a building. I was telling all my pals to come see the poor stuck jelly when someone suggested I shoot it and stop wasting everyone's time.

    Long story short... Jelly+Novas = .

I had apparently poked the lookout/vanguard of a sentient flux attack with a short stick.

In my flailing, burning, FF'ing attempt to escape I was watching pink fluff balls fly through my screen and screaming "IT'S GOT NOVAS!!! IT'S GOT NOVAS!!!" Into my mic... still hear about that one to this day.
