As we all know, release dates get pushed back all the time. I wanted to create a poll to see what the majority believes will be the actual release of this game, taking into account unforseen problems.

Definately not Q1, I'm going to go with what they have stated so far. Q2.. if Q2 means April, May, or June then I will say June or July which is early Q3.
Just a guess
Eh, I think that it'll be Q3, there is alot of stuff that they are just now implementing, unless they where just keeping it secret for some reason.
Though we have heard of stupid haste in war, cleverness has never been seen associated with long delays.

Yea but Q2 gives them 4-6 months and by my guess it would be 6-7 months. That is enough time to integrate everything they have stated (although I am not a game designer) recently as changes. I don't think there is any major redesigning with these new implements, but rather additions to the fundamental system.
Just my 2c
I dunno why but I just have a gut feeling that they're gonna push it back once more, so Q3 is my guess. If they do, no problem, just means a better game. Although I desperately do wish that they can make a solid product by Q2, we'll just have to wait and see.

Eh, yeah I guess you're right.

Personally I hope that it will be released Q3 or Q4. I'll be away for training for a job and I wouldn't get a chance to play until then anyway and I really want to play it the day it releases! Plus I prefer that when it releases it is a great game with few flaws and bugs. Vanguards release has really made me realize getting a game early just because you want to play badly is not worth it!
WAR is like a beacon of light in these dark days of MMOing.
Don't fail us Mythic, otherwise MMO players may not recover.
Q4 sounds great. In time for the Holiday season, school semester ends -- and winter. A perfect storm for a strong release.
We all know the holidays are for MMOing, not families.
I still say Q2 of 08', but the very end of Q2. I believe they will use the time available to them wisely.
Having seen and played (a friend's) WAR in beta state I will say Q3. I would suggest Q4. But I will put my dime on Q2 unfortunately. The pressure is just too high and another push-back will likely hurt them in terms of hype and in this day and age hype is needed to generate green which, suprisingly to many people who read this forum, is why companies make games.
Somewhere in the middle of Q4. I always try to have a pessimistic approach, then you're almost always positively surprised. But well games always get pushed back and if they said Q2 it will probably be Q4.
I believe there is so much anticipation for this MMORPG that they do not need to release it during the holiday season to have a HUGE 1st week. HOwever, do believe there is somewhat f a race between WAR and AoC to be released first. There are a lot of WoW players who are just playing WoW but want to play something else. Right now there isnt anything of the calibre of WoW for them to go to. A lot of people think these two games will be. Whichever comes out first will have a HUGE influx of players where the second may not be as many
Torrential
Torrential: DAOC (Pendragon)
Awned: World of Warcraft (Lothar)
Torren: Warhammer Online (Praag)
I don't really suspect a race between AoC and WAR. If Mythic wanted to race and release their game first, they wouldn't have delayed it until after AoC is 'suppose' to release.
I am one of the people that is playing wow at the moment because there is nothing else that has caught my eye. I have been watching the Dev. of both these games for awhile and can say that their release date will have a huge impact on me. I really want to play War but if AoC comes out first and I like it well that is the one I will go with most likely. So I agree with you on this 100% that the race between these 2 has an impact on me personally.
Pushing back the release date doesn't honostly make any sense at this point in the developement process. Many of us have heard similar statements to "I can't beleive they just added (X Feature)! ZOMG THEY SUXZORS!". However the fundamentals and basics of the game are ready for shipment, if this wasn't the case they wouldn't be in the second phase of a closed Beta. What the development team is going through right now is an extremely painstaking process of looking at ever single tiny detail of their game, yes it will take some time but their shouldn't be any MAJOR changes (Ever tried to proof read a college thesus?).
My point being that unless EA Mythic runs into a HUGE incorrectable error or decides to add an entire additional race into the mix (This would require all new quests and landscaping) than there is no reason that they shouldn't meet their estimated release date of 2Q '08, and have a very strong release at that.
I say late May, early June. They were hiring QA testers near me for 6 month contracts that start in January. Unless theres a major setback, thats my hope.
I can see them pushing back the release date until Q3 2008, seeing as how AoC (if not pushed back) and the new WoW expansion is going to be released before WAR, it might be a smart idea to push the release date back in order to get more customers who are either unhappy with AoC or unhappy with WoW or both coming their way.
On a side note... WoW expansion is due in November of '08, that's (I'm hoping) after WAR is going to release.
Common sence would be to release at either the same time and let their game do the talking or beforehand. Releasing at the same time we would have to make a choice, it would also give them a chance to keep the servers up and adjust better, rather than crash and downtime happening, this happened with WoW and in the 1st 2 months of releaser you got about 10 days compensation for the downtime, with a day here and 2 days there awarded.
My vote is for Q4 2008. The reasoning: the recent announcements about putting keeps, siege warfare, and branching specializations for every class represents a monumental amount of work that I believe will require the extra time. Also, Q4 is a prime time for release with the onset of the Christmas season.
I was under the impression that they pushed back to q2 of 08 or is this speculation as to wether they push back again or not?
The estimated release date is still Q2 '08. This is a speculation thread.
Q2 '08
Mythic is generally pretty good at estimates.
Give 'em a miss, or two max.
Have not played Beta, so do not know for sure.
But Q1 or Q2, sliding Aprilish - Mayish would be my guess.
did they release the keeps and siege info before or after the they estimated?
but to stick to topic i hope its early april or may
After, but that in no way means they didn't have the system setup already.
