OK, before I start I would just very much appreciate if the local trolls left this thread alone.  Let's just have one thread where people say why they like this game ! ;)

I will wait with my reasons ( and there ois plenty ) to give the opportunity for others to post first ;)

What I like about the game..

    1. There are no Elves and Golden Dragons.

    2. Reminds of Starship Troopers / War of the Worlds  meets Stargate SG1. <so many combinations>

    3. Lots and lots of fast pace combat with a mmorpg mechanic to it.

    4. Me and my friends are all finally playing something we like to play as a team.

    5. Protecting and Defending bases from the cursed Bane! Hopefully PvP one day in the game!

    6. A VERY LIVE Atmosphere game, there is something constantly going on somewhere. NPCs attacking other NPCs, well you get the picture. --> The enemy of my enemy is my friend? Well sorta... haha

    1. TR is a game my wife and I have a blast playing every time we log on. (We had almost this much fun playing SW battlefront on x box and Diablo 2 on pc)

    2. I love the overall art theme of the game. The armor, weapons and  bad guys.

    3. See #1 . This game is massive fun for my wife and I.  Fun fun fun.

    Let's see!

    1: It's just plain fun!!

2: The questing is very well done IMO keeps you moving a long the story line, unless you have to pause to catch up your Targets of Opportunity kills, but even that's fun to see how long you can keep the XP bonus going!

3: The XP bonus is awesome the more you kill the more xp you get! Of course there is a cap of 250%

4: The graphics are very well done!

5: Collecting the different Logos is fun and also unlocks different powers!

6:  The different armors just looks awesome IMO!

6: The weapons are way cool and they can have different powers on them.

    I could go on!

All in all this game is very casual friendly and very fun to play!

I don't really feel the need to convince others to play TR.

but here are the reasons I am playing:

    1. I am having fun

    that is all.

If there was just ONE thing I could choose as being worthy in TR it is this:

You can't macro your way to sucess... The situations are just so fluid that you MUST keep your mind constantly evaluating the situation and ready to change tactics.

If they added clan controlled CPs and a REASON to hold them? That would be smoking hot.

I've only played Tabula Rasa for a day and I can tell you this much :

    1. It's fun! I've never had this much fun in over 5 years of FPS's and MMORPG's combined.

    2. The graphics are really nice. Keeps my eye candy going.

    3. Quests / Grinding : This game is very unique for me with this subject, I love doing quests but you know what's funny? Me and my friend go out to do a quest and half way to the point where we do the quest we stop and end up just defending a base with others and get sidetracked lol! And it's fun!

I like the combat system, it's really fun. I also think games atmosphere and how npcs talks, it's really nice.

+1 I'm so burnt out on the fantasy settings. other reasons:

    1. I like the fact that towns and friendly posts come under serious attack and that the cheesy npc drone defenders are not enough to hold it.  Gives an element of suspense at all times. Constrast that with other games with towns filled with people scratching their asses while lvl 50 guards infalliably protect the town (well why don't THEY do the quests? :))

    2. The guns! I love em. I love the sound. When I am out in the wilderness where it is quiet and someone opens up a shotgun blast, I jump out of my skin! The chains guns start to rule around lvl 13.

    3. I like the fps-like control without the twitchiness needed for those. Just wish there was a genuine strafe move.

    4. I like how grouping really helps but is not strictly necessary. Much nicer than the LotRO bottlenecking instance problem, or the Guild Wars "LF Monk"  purgatory.

I played TR and to be honest I just didn't care for it all that much. I liked the graphics and the atmosphere of the game. I thought the combat system was pretty good as well. The game just seemed shallow. It could just be that my expectations for what the game would be were wrong. No real fault of the game. There was nothing in the game that grabbed me and kept me wanting to play.  Everyones taste in games is different and I hope TR does well. In fact I hope it does so well that more developers will move away from the over used fantasy setting. Every time some one rolls an elf in a game you can hear baby Jesus cry.

The game is far from perfect, but it provides a very fun experience for people who focus more a just having a good time. The elitist gamers will never be able to have fun in any MMO, so dont listen to them.

    1. The graphics are awensome even on the normal setting.  With my Geforce 7800 GT the game look sbetter then any other mo out there.

    2.  This game is intense ! Fighting for bases, some quests, just ravelling around, this game can get really intense & will keep you on the edge of your seat !

    3. Design - Given thst not everything has been implemented and not everything is working properly but allready you can see that the design of this game is rather well thought out ;)  All the little details show that everything in the game had a fair ammount of time & thought invested into it.

    4. FUN FUN FUN - I don;t even remember the last time when I actually had FUN playign an mmo, I mean like a stopping to brace your sides while you laugh fun !

    5. TR lends itself really well to RP and even though I have not done much of it yet I really like the idea that its easily implemented in this game ;)

    6. No dwarfs & Elves.

    7. Not as much grind as in other mmos - infact at lvl 33 I did not do any grind as of yet, all questing and few quests in instances.  In pretyt much every other mmo I had to spend hours and sometimes days or weeks grinding.

I disagree. The graphics are on par with other MMOs out there, but not stunning, such as LOTRO. Suppose it depends on your rig, I played both on max settings.

Sounds like any other MMO I've played, except for the CP battles, which are really cool!

I'll agree, though TR has nothing I've been overly inpressed with, just what's expected in a new MMO IMO.
    4. FUN FUN FUN - I don;t even remember the last time when I actually had FUN playign an mmo, I mean like a stopping to brace your sides while you laugh fun !
Obviously this is subjective, again, in my experience, TR was fun, but didn't stand out as a "super good time" compared to every other MMO out there. Then again, I spend more time playing games than working (full time), so I may be burnt out somewhat.

Again, all MMOs are great for RP if you want them to be. Hell, a text based MUD is RP heaven if you are an RP'er!
    6. No dwarfs & Elves.
Yeah, but only humans and bane, not a good trade-off IMO, especially since you only get to play as one of them. I care not about which races specifically are in the game, but having zero choice is bad in a game.
    7. Not as much grind as in other mmos - infact at lvl 33 I did not do any grind as of yet, all questing and few quests in instances.  In pretyt much every other mmo I had to spend hours and sometimes days or weeks grinding.
Not sure which modern MMOs you're playing, but weeks grinding? I doubt it. TR is definately not a grinding game however, doing quests will level you real nice like...at least till lvl 30 or so currently.
But the TR devs did eliminate some grind by having enough quests to get to 30 at least. The thing is, TR really lends itself to running around killing anything that moves because - well, the mobs are there, and its fun to shoot 'em. Some see this as grind, I see it as deciding to kill anything on the way to your next mission/waypoint.
TR is good, okay, not revolutionary or unique, but it holds its own in comparisen to the current crop of MMOs available.

Good thing for you there is a Stargate MMO coming.

Apparently the difference between "Say what you like about the game" and "Fisk-negate any nice thing said about the game" eludes some people.
