Hey guys. :] I'm a newbie to Tabula Rasa ( I got the 3-day Trial yesterday) I've been playing for a while now and I'm a level 9 soldier.
But I'm still very, very lost with a lot of features with this game.
One thing I've read alot about but don't understand is the Cloning situation. I don't understand how this works, can anyone explain it to me? Is there any way to respec?
What kind of abilities and such should I be focusing on, I want to be a grenadier / gaurdian.

You can clone you character at (we will use the Soldier Route)
Level 4 .999 Either choose Soldier or Specialist - you shouldnt waste a clone token here- to easy to get to level 5
Level 14 .999 Either choose Commando or Ranger - you should clone at this point before picking a class (you can clone by just going into your character screen and click on clone) at this point you can also change your skill points to reflect what type of character you want to level to 30. Again, if you made a nice template and still satisfied with your cuurent choices, dont use a clone token here neither.
Level 29 .999 Either choose Grenadier or Guardian - Make your character clone here, since all skill points are once again resetted and level your toon to 50. Be careful here, one you pick a certain skill, there is no turning back at this point till you hit 49 .999 and clone again.
Level 49 .999 I believe you can make a clone here as well if you got enough Clone tokens. And make your final character here with the right template.
When it comes to Body, Mind and Spirit. This is the tricky part.. I intend to dump more points in Body then anything else since I am rolling a Soldier class. And I intend to put points into spirit as well. Something like 60% Body / 10% Mind / 30% Spirit
Hopefully this helps out, or maybe some other TR expert on this forum can assist on what I am trying to get across to you.
Ok, what happens when you clone? I tried cloning one of my dumb characters for testing and my character came out with no gear , no nothing.

When you clone, you don't clone the items because that would make one hell of an exploit for the auction house. But remember that your footlocker is accessible by all characters so when your main gets gear he cant use, stick it in the footlocker for the other toons.
Attribute wise, go all body at the moment. Apparently even engineers can get by without points in power. HOWEVER, the attributes are going to be changed soon so that we have to be smarter in point placement. But don't worry, when they make the change they will reset your points so they can be reassigned.
And like the other guys said, don't clone at level 4-5 because you can get a freshly-rolled toon to level 4 in less than 30 minutes.
Just some additional comments...
When you clone a character, it clones the character's level, XPs, and current class. The default character description is pretty close to what you already had, usually with the addition of some glasses or something like that. Usually the face, hair and body color, and height remain the same. You can change any of these settings as desired.
When you log in with your clone, you will find that all your skill points have been reset, but NOT your attribute points. So, you can spec your skills according to what the class you're about to chose (or have just chosen). This is pretty handy and the main reason why people clone n the first place.
