Hmm, on Black Friday my local Best Buy was selling brand new laptops for 300.00 each, (which some folks camped out for 3 days to get).  Was it a sign of desperation or a marketing strategy?

I noticed the holiday offer was only if you pre-paid for 3 months and I'm not sure its renewable at that rate (but it might be)

Pretty slick move if you ask me. If you take the deal they're getting $30 and just maybe you'll keep playing after the 3 months is up. I don't see the desperation.

I think they are taking their que from cell and cable companies as well. Reduced price for a few months then the normal price. Sounds like a good business decision for the christmas season.

9.99 = Founder's pricing, it is renewable, so long as you hold the 3 month plan. Not a sign of desperation, you are misinformed. Just means they are doing well enough to offer it.

I don't feel that it's desperation at all but just good marketing.  MMO's are a business and what better way to get your product out?  They'll fluff their subscription numbers with this, make more money and move forward with their game.  IMO this is a pretty good deal for a new player to LotRO as I only found this game interesting for about 2-3 months.  As I've said before in other posts, this game was hands down the most fun I've had from 1-50 but the least amount of fun after reaching the level cap.  Again, this isn't a flame post because I really feel this is a solid game and a good experience.  It just didn't have any longevity for me.  I wish you all the best.

I think Kleer is desperate ......for attention?

    Agreed Daring.

Very slick marketing move one of the only companies to make offers on their subscriptions and if your on a good rate your more likely to leave it there.

Considering games like planetside run by soe had to put ingame marketing and up the monthly sub cause of lost gamers I suggest you read into what the opposite action means.

Have to agree with everyone else here. I cant see it as an act of desperation. Everyone puts product on sale during the holidays.

    True.

Even worse, his profile claims he is 46 years of age, which would make it beyond pathetic.

Good marketing strategy, no more no less.
