Virgin to MMORPG

Well, I'm not a big fan of games that are long. I'm a CSer, UTer, Quaker type person. Some-what to moderately fast action paced, no story, nothing. I've never really played any adventure, action, rpgs and other genres. I'm usually a multiplayer FPS Person.

Anyways, I gave Lineage 2 a try and got my subscription. I love the game, this is the first time I liked a game of this genre, it's a pretty cool game and fun game. I was thinking of getitng other games or something to play :).

MMORPG's are very fun and awesome ;).

Give Lineage 2 some time and you'll be wanting other games to play really quick.  I play Lineage 2 and I was more than dazzled by the great graphics and the interesting combat system.  But past that it's nothing but one big long and boring grind.  The reward for the grind is more skills, more Adena, better equipment and more grinding.  You can't grind in peace with all the damn chinese farmers hanging out a Cruma, so needless to say...I won't be renewing my subscription.

I don't know what you talking about.

L2 is far from boring. I'm level 53 now and I'm blazing in this game. Started my dragon quest just 3 days ago.

I now spend 30% of my time dueling in Arena. My clan just gained another level. Started nuking dungeons area.

In C2, they come with pet racing, gambling, several other mini-games, more area to explore, etc.

It is a madness. There is no other game like this one.

I don't know if WoW, EQ2 will match up with this much of content when they get released.

Remember L2 is already out. You can actually play right now.

    two words: bondage elves.

That, and ravening hordes of insane Koreans is what I think of when I think of L2.

    -------
They panic, so... just hold them down
    I could live like this
I'm closing in; hate all around
    I could be like this
Hearing them; them in my head
How can they be so sweet... sweet?

Koreans get paid to play this game and sell the in-game money. Thats sad. Not to mention there is no gameplay to speak of.

Get your facts straight. It's the chinese.

This game might have content if you can grind through those 40-50 boring levels until you can do a decent castle siege and join a good clan.

If i had to describe this game in two words or less, i couldn't have done it any better than what you just said.

I think nothing of this game, except that and crazy koreans flooding the game with bots.

lol... it's hard enough grinding through the first twenty I've heard. I have played this game though not much. with what I saw it was alright, but with what I've heard from people who have really experienced it - I'd rate it a 6 out of 10. mind you, I only got to lvl 6 or 7 I believe.

Why would Koreans come to NA server and flood the game?

What do you think they are missing in Korean server? Whinners? lol image

I don't think they even bother to come to NA servers?

    Same goes for Jap.

If there are people flooding this game, it's gotta be from some country with no server yet. Say Kazacstan?

    LMAO

Maybe because the Asian servers where already flooded with people farming cash with their bots?

This is becoming a big money thing. Big enough that Sony is getting in on the action, and selling in game items for the PS2 starting with Gran Turismo 4 this November. Personally, I don't think it will go over as well as people selling stuff from MMOs.

    I highly doubt it.

If it's flooded they only need to increase the number of servers.

About Bots farming cash I have no clue. As far as I know they don't own Ebay (an American company). So I can't say that much on that subject.

Ebay is well known for hosting a lot of cyber cash trade.

    Can't hate E-Bay.

The grind ruins L2. It's as smple as that.

And the grinding never ends in that game. You lose XP and equipment everytime you die, and in an open PvP game with castle sieges you can expect to die hundreds of times a week. If you actively participate in castle sieges but don't play 8 hours a day, you will be losing more XP and adena than you will be gaining.

L2 has great graphics, but L2 is a good example of a game that that just puts pretty graphics over the same old level grind.

I played the L2 KOB a lot and the NAOB a little. I liked it for a while. It really all depends on who you play with. Having a great group to play with makes grinding a breeze. It was in DESPERATE need for a LOT of quality, worthwhile quests though. The game could really use some better stories/lore immersion also.

Edit: Oh, I forgot to mention that the economy, items, crafting and skill systems are completely pathetic compared to other current games.

Like I said who cares about Graphic if it delivers good gameplay.

L2 rewards time investment. I'm not gonna bring the "so does millions other" type of argument.

This is not some sort of accident that just happened over the night, it is meant to be featured.

Even that sort of brutal level grind is not enough to stop some extremely hardcore gamers from reaching level cap in matter of months perhaps weeks.

Anyway this sort of discussion is getting tiresome because it's been repeated over and over... countless time.
