Need help. I'm bored!

Background:
Played AO, got a high level doc and a 200 shade and sold the account. Just got bored with the game. No interest to return
Played DAOC for like 2 days (maybe 8 hours total). Boring, in my opinion. No interest to play it.
SWG , played for 2 days, maybe 8 hours. "I can't jump?!?" Semi-interested in playing it but... meh. I know it's improved, doesn't really exciite me though.
Played AC2, maxed my character (to 50) and got a 30-something alchemist, everyone left. Now it's a ghost town.
Played COH, it's fun but doing mission after mission gets old.
Ex-Boyfriend talked me into Planetside, not my thing at all.
Playing a MUD, but getting bored with it kinda (I like the RP it offers though).
Currently subscibed to Lineage 2 but a little unmotivated to go grind. Kinda looking for something more RP'ish and less chinese adena bot farming grind like you have no life type game.

Not in WOW beta (or anyother beta) *cry*

Is there a good MMORPG out right now, that lots of people play, RP in, and do stuff besides grind? Oh and also looking for a game where I see more then 10 people on at any given time.

Please help, I am so bored....

Though the player population is low you may want to look into Horizons. It has issues for sure, but I personally feel that it's at a stage now where it is worth recommending to others. You can join in-game channels such as Dragon or Dawn (if you play on Dawn, one of the role-play servers) to chat with many more than 10 players. Most would be happy to help with questions.

HZ has a 7 day free trial if you want to give it a whirl. Note that there will probably be flamers who bounce in here to spew their dooms day stuff. I'd recommend making up your own mind about it. :)

It's important to note that the 7 day free trial will automatically roll you over into a month-to-month subscription if you don't cancell within the 7 days. Cancelling is as easy as going to http://www.ibillcs.com if you choose to do so.

Horizons' role play servers tend to have folks who actually RP though you will of course run into groups that don't. Check the boards at http://www.tazoon.com for information and to ask questions, if you're so inclined.

Another option may be EVE Online. I have not played this game in awhile so I can't say what state it is currently in. My largest complaint about the game was its "down time" (which is experienced in the form of long "warp" times between destinations). It's 90%+ of the reason that drove me to cancel.

I read that these days there is no need to be a miner to make ISK (which is the game's currency, of course). The last time that I played I purchased a Rifter and went Angel hunting. Angels are one of the game's NPC pirates. It was 'okay' - definitely more enjoyable than asteroid mining!

I'm sure that you've seen the 14 day trial offer for EVE mentioned on this website. :)

Also note that EVE is a PVP game, with the PVP areas seperated by high security and low security space, and all of the areas inbetween. If you're attacked in high security space then CONCORD, the NPC police force, warps in and blows the attackers to bits. Of course, the really good stuff is in low security space but I never had any problems with griefers.

In fact, one of the times that I quit EVE I wanted to go out with a bang so I flew around for probably two hours whilest I went sight seeing to all of the places that I'd normally never go to. The whole time I was challenging folks to come kill me, telling them where I was at and where I was going. Not one attacker came along.

Note that EVE has a high learning curve but I can't think of any serious complaints about it. Skills train in real time (half-hour, hours, days, weeks, months for beginner to advanced skills). This is a perk in my opinion as it allows your character to advance without requiring you to camp for hours on end.

It's late and I apologize for any inchoerency.

EverQuest has a 30-day free trial if you're interested in seeing what that's about. Opinions about EQ are split down the middle -- half the world likes it while the other half wishes it would just go away. I personally had fun with the game for about four months, and I played the game for a total of two years. The high-end level grind became just too much for me. Nowadays I'm sure it is difficult to find low level groups to adventure with (as it probably is with most MMORPGs by now.)

Horizons was a fun level grind for the first few levels, however I found no real depth to the game at the time I played. I had considered returning to Horizons to check it's state, but Artifact Entertainment recently filed Chapter 11 -- oh well.

Ultima Online is still kicking, but it is nothing like the game it used to be. UO has been ruined by numerous expansions and localization, and the game now appeals to a much younger crowd of people who have probably never heard of Ultima before. I don't even think the fictitious Lord British is a part of UO anymore. That's just wrong.

Good luck finding a cool game to play as of this date. I am personally waiting for WoW. As a side note I am looking to gather a group of people who intend to play WoW at launch. PM me if interested.

Hmmm... here's my two cents.  All these games are boring provided you play them like single player games.  What you need to do is find a group of people you enjoy playing with.  You can do this in game, or out of game by talking to people here or in chats.  Any of the games listed will become fun and interesting if you are playing with people you enjoy playing with.  Even L2 could be fun with the right crowd, and that shows just how important community is to these games.

I know you said you didnt like daoc, but i had the same feeling when i started out boring and dull.

bu for some reasone its begun to really really grow on me. I think its the grind in Daoc that has brought me into it, i just spent 3 days on raganarok trying to get to my FIRST CLASS whereas it only took me about 3 hours to get to level 5 and see all the wonder and glory of my class, i agree that the graphics are outdated but their still alright.

If graphics is such a big issue to you though you should check there next expansion out at http://catacombs.darkageofcamelot.com/ there revamping everything! all the character models, from mobs to players to npcs. The textureing is also getting a buff as well, along with the shrouded isle water, and some tree upgrades that i cant remeber, it looks like it will look like daoc will be close to achieving some of the artistic and amazingly beautiful graphics as.....dare i say....lineage 2? gasp maybe not that good but pretty damn close.

if you really want to think about trying it again ill be more than glad to help, im Kraseli for albion on the lancelot server.
