I think that the BGs need to be reworked. All the twinks take the fun and skill out of the BGs. I think they should put some kind of level stat cap when entering the BG. For instance No more than x amount of hp for warriors. Should be different for each class as well as mana. This should be based on the level of the character not the level of the BG. The stats could change somewhat between one lvl 70 toon to another only because of gear but should not exceed a certain stat cap established by Blizzard. I know this will piss alot of people off with spending all that money to make there twinks but it really takes away from the BG. With the different type of stat caps, it would bring back the skill in playing your toon not the gear.
It may just me but I wish they would implement to some affect to bring the fun back to the BGs.
I know a lot of people have fun with there twinks there but it does not require a lot of skill to play with a charater that has twice as much health and hits twice as hard as anybody else in the BG.
Needless to say people still need to work together in a BG to win but even a single twink can ruin the pure enjoyment out of the BG.
Sorry if someone has already posted this but I am very frustrated with the current PvP BG situation. I know I could twink my alts for it but I like to have fun not waste money on a toon that will never leave max level for a certain division in a BG. I just do not have the time to spend to max money to max an alt. With stat caps everyone could enjoy.

The best way to combat twinks is with numbers. Dont go into the BG alone. Grab a few friends, or make some friends from your first BG of the day and send them a message "Hey, lets stick together and help eachother out". One thing about twinks, is that they feel invulnerable, and as such, generally run alone. A good team can defeat any lone twink.
Also the BG itself may be an issue. WSG and to a lesser extend AB can be very tough. Whereas AV is much more forgiving and easier to stay with a group

A lot of it is your class too.
For battlegrounds, you'll rarely have one on one fights.
That is why hunters / warlocks tend to do well in most BG's is because they can sit at range and throw damage around multiple opponents, where as other classes like Mages/Shaman/Warriors/Rogues/Paladins/Druids/Priest are all about single target pwnage.
Yes, some have AOE's and/or mass Fear's etc. etc.
But I've found hunters/warlocks are best to play in BGs because they make such good support classes in BG PvP. Just follow someone else around and throw your damage around.
Being melee is hard in BG's because the ranged will generally sit and stare at each other, with the occasional peck back and forth, each side too scared to move and really go at it, where as melee HAS to charge forward, and then is focused on by everyone on the other side.
At least, this is my experience. All the other ranged classes pick a target and try to own it all by themselves, the melee charge/ambush around trying to kill something before they get gang-banged, and the hunters/locks just sit back and throw damage around, soaking up the most Honor kills and dying the least.
I don't really have a problem with that. Maybe because my 2 accounts, warlock and pali, cant be twinkified. You don't really need to BG before 51 except for Insignia of the Horde and there just isn't twinks anymore in AV or 59 AB and EoS.
Easy to fix, hit 70. Sure the gear on some is awesome but the only way to have gotten it would be to have earned it. What to do if your gear sucks? Deal with it and remember you still get Honor even if you lose. Hit up the BG weekends and get your PvP gear, anything won with honor will be better PvP gear then what you could find on the AH.
The thing i always think about is hey, its not i am permanently dead... I just run in and try to kill, if i die, then i get up and charge again lol... you would be surprised at how effective suicidal attempts can be... Of course you gotta not care if you die a lot and ignore the jerk-offs that make fun of ya for it... Also i generally stay ou of BGs if i see or know that someone there is gonna get all uptight and start screaming and calling everyone "NEWBS" just cuz they are dieing a lot or not winning. Eventually you get geared well enough to kill and not die as much, but hey its PvP and unless your God's Gift to Gaming someone (or in my case a lot of someones) is better at than you... ;-p
I REJECT your reality and substitute my own!
The charge in without concern for safety approach can actually be quite effective when employed by warriors and paladins, who can draw a lot of fire towards themselves and away from squishier team members.
However, I wouldn't recommend it for a holy priest!

one way I've found to combat twinks... Sheep.
It's very hard for a twink to effect a BG if a mage keeps them sheeped for most of the BG. And it pisses them off to no end
