First person view. And no, I'm not talking about a first person view with a crosshair like the abomination that is swg:nge. I want a first person view like most other first person shooter games have. I want to see my gun and I want to see that baby's muzzle flash when I lay down a hailstorm of lead. This is just a personal want and not something that would really make the game better. But it just peeves me when you advertise a FPS/RPG hybrid mmo but dont even add the "First Person" aspect.

About the best you get is the over the shoulder view.   Part of the head and the gun are in view, but you are down at eye lvl.  Thing is though...in a game like this, you need to be enviromentally aware of what is going on around you or you are dead.  The true 1st person view as you refer to is a good way to end up dead a lot.  It works in true shooter games because you have the hall behind you cleared in single players and well everyone is handicapped in multiplayers.  In TR though....you would be on your back, pushing up daisys a lot more than I would.  Knowing who and what is behind or next to you and what direction incoming fire is coming from is very important in the quest to kill more and not die to often.  You can't do that in 1st person view.

You know the one thing i need? MORE STORAGE the game drops so much stuff that looks like something you want to use in the future... you don't want to sell it! Even breaking it down in to components for crafting.. just takes up more slots! come on... give me a locker to go along with my foot locker.. sheesh.

I love this view.  I always switch to it as soon as combat starts.

Yup, me too.  I played in Beta and never even gave TR a second thought after that.  I have no desire to play any MMORPG in 3rd person mode.  Ever.  If I cannot actually BE in the game, rather than just watching a Toon's ass in the game, then it is not the game for me.

I am happy that all the Console players out there have a MMO that they can play.  But I want my virtual reality in a MMORPG and not a dime will they get out of me if it is not there.

Notable dissapointments with no 1st person mode include :  Earth & Beyond, Matrix Online, Tabula Rasa, EVE Online.

I have to say that when I tried out Neocron the FPS view really did make the game feel a bit more hands on.  Keep in mind Neocron and TR are both shooter RPG and have similar mechanics.

I wish they would add it too.  I understand that demographics wise the 3rd person and seeing your avatar is more well liked (or at least more accepted).  And also that view may make grouping easier.  But I realized FPS just feels more like I'm there and was more fun.

this is all well and good, and your valid opinion.

but now please, especially in light of the first sentence of this post, stop going around this message board trying to convince people that this game is some type of horrible failure when you "never even gave TR a second thought" after playing in beta.

i understand that you are bitter because the game doesn't have a first-person view, but please don't misrepresent this bitterness as being caused by something else that is wrong with the game, as you did in another thread.

that said, i would not complain if a proper FPS viewpoint were added, and infact i'd probably use it. but the lack of it does not mean the game is an absolute trash failure, to me.

I agree - my backpack is bigger than my footlocker. Add tabs for crafting items, recipies, ammo and armor/weapons to the footlocker just like they did to the backpack please :) I am a total pack-rat.

Ok I agree with the storage thing.  On one hand I think its great that all toons have access to the same locker.  On the other hand, when you're playing multiple toons, the amount of space we have is miniscule.  I end up running around with alot of stuff in my backpack instead of being able to put it in my locker.  This prevents me from staying out in the field longer just on a killing rampage because the few empty spaces I have in my backpack now fills up way too fast.  Having different tabs on our lockers like our backpacks would be nice.

Also, first person is fine for some.  Others don't like it.  I am not crazy about it myself.  The over the shoulder view is even abit much for me.  And just because you don't like certain aspects of the game is your opinion.  There are others of us who DO like this game regardless.  So all you whinners, take it somewhere else.  Stop tryin to convince others not to play because you think your opinion is worth more.  Frankly I'm gettin tired of all the whinners ingame.  They complain and bitch and groan about stuff, yet they still play.  Go figure.
