What is your favorite Guild Wars profession? What secondary do you think compliments it?

My first and main character is an elementalist. I can still remember researching all the professions in-depth before I got Guild Wars lol. I simply love the pure destruction through AoE. There's nothing like nuking a Kurzick mob
My first character was a ranger and my main is an elementalist, but my favorite class is Mesmer. Soo many ways to play the class, DoT / E-Denial / Anti-Caster / Anti-Melee / etc. Right now my favorite secondary is Necro if for no other reason that Gaze of Contempt.
Nothing is more satisfying that a suxxon sin or derv throwing on a bunch of enchants then coming after my Mes as I feign distress then I unleash the fury...well they do the damage to themselves so it is quite entertaining. Strip their enchants and them have them kill themselves...the reason I love Mesmer.
*edit*
I had to fix a sentence that was decimated by wrong words...
"It is easier to be cruel than wise. The road to wisdom is long and difficult... so most people just turn out to be assholes" Feng (Christopher Walken)
Yeah Mesmer is definitely my second favourite. It was between Elementalist and Mesmer when I first started, so I created an E/Me :P I love being able to stop Assassins in their tracks. Nothing is as funny as Clumsiness during a skill chain mixed with empathy and backfire in case they get any ideas. And a few disruptions in case the start a new chain.
Ritualist. And Assassin as secondary. Assassin's Promise+long recharging spirits=ftw.
Everyone will laugh, but I like to play the monk (with a mesmer secondary). I enjoy being the guy who keeps everyone else alive...it's a challenge, sometimes but I'm really good at healing.
I've been playing the Paragon recently, just because no one seems to pick that profession and I've found it to be a good balance between attack and support.

Necro... nothing like echo+ss+reckless haste
Fire eles are pretty neat too.
Waiting for Fallen Earth, World of Darkness, Old Republic, FFXIV
Why would someone laugh? Monks are one of the most important parts of a group, of course they can be replaced by a ritualist but still, they keep the group alive and trying to create a group without one (or without healers) would be a epic phail. I would rather say I respect you.
My main is a Monk/Necromancer though I typically only load Monk skills (Heal/Prot). I'd love to come up with a fun Smite build though and let Hero/Hench monks handle the healing for a change.
I do have an SS Necro who used to be my main until I switched back to the monk, those are also fun.
I just got a Dervish to 20 and over to the mainland and that class is tons of fun if you enjoy melee.
I've never had an Ele, Mesmer or Ritualist yet; I'm very curious about the Ritualist but I think I'm going to hold off until I get my Monk through the entire game and maybe some others. I'll probably stick with him as my primary character so I'm using the others to cap skills for Heroes right now.
I haven't made a Ritualist yet, either. Hmmm....might have to give it a shot this weekend.

My favorite is the one I happen to be playing at the time, because eventually they all end up boring me and I like the change of pace playing different characters gives me.
But if I had to pick one overall it would be...
Ranger, followed closely by Elementalist, just because of the amazing things I've been able to do in-game with these professions, even before Factions came out.
My (first) Ranger has stood toe-to-toe with the Drake boss in Perdition Rock and after 10 minutes of battling him solo (rest of team had gotten wiped), I defeated him. Solo. Awesome experience.
But I love all the professions, and have had great times with them all.
My Elementalist using Water Magic was able to solo Aurora Glade after rest of team had been wiped (where the three pedestal are) and I was able to get them through that part with just the eight skills I had on my bar and a lot of ingenuity.
My Monk solo-healed entire team for Thunderhead Keep mission losing only one player to death: a Necro who wouldn't stay with the group.
My Paragon survived a massive onslaught in Elona Reach - near one of the Crystal Shards - beating 5 Forgotten solo before rezing team.
On a recent run through Heart of the Shiverpeaks, one of the players - a Dervish - and his hero, Tahlkora, were gang-banged by half-a-dozen Undead. My (first) Necro ran to their aid as rest of team moved on and soloed them using SS and Parasitic Bond, and rezzed both Dervish and hero so they could rejoin the group.
My Assassins routinely help people in Thirsty River mission, where Death's Charge gets me to the Priests there instantly, and I'm usually able to kill them before rest of team catches up.
I love my Rits. Nothing like watching wave after wave of monsters die under the withering volleys my spirits unleash.
I seldom play my Mesmers as pure Mesmers. I prefer SS/Dom build or spirit-spammer (Me/Rt).
Nothing beats a Dervish against undead foes, not even a Smiter. I log my Dervs when I need to help out with the undead.
Finally, even the profession I disliked the most - Warrior - has become fun to play with Ursan Blessing. I can farm Margonites all day with that combo. Lots of fun.
That's all for now...
My favorite class and main character is Paragon and second favorite would have to be Ranger.
Wow....I'm surprised to see you state you like the Paragon (although I like that profession, too)...most people bitch about the Paragon.

I know the Paragon has gotten weakened but I've spent way to much time and money on him just to throw my hands in the air and say f*** it! Also, I don't think it's that bad anyways but what do I know.
I hear my guildmates complaining about Paragon nerfs fairly often. I have a Paragon but he's only recently 17 and hasn't even done Consulate Docks yet so I don't have much experience with the profession. I do enjoy playing him and I love the effects and the offense/defense balancing. I don't know how far I'll go with the profession though other than capping skills since his secondary is Ele and I'm guessing I'll get a Paragon hero at some point in the Nightfall story line.
Warrior for me. I play warrior all the time in HA and GvG and I have to say they are the best source of consistent DPS and really fun to play.
Dervish, though I really hate the game now due to everyone spam healing. Guild Wars with no heals I would love
I have tried most of the classes, but my favorites are probably the four I play the most:
FUN--
Warrior (favorite character: 3 campaigns completed + EotN)
Elementalist (Factions and EotN completed, now in Nightfall)
Ranger (Prophecies and Factions completed, now in Nightfall)
Monk (Factions and Nightfall completed, now in EotN)
OK--
Dervish (Still about halfway thru Nightfall -- haven't played him in ages)
Mesmer (Factions completed). He was OK, but just seemed to die too much.
Paragon (At about halfway through Nightfall I deleted him.)
NO OPINION (never played/not interested) --
Assassin
Ritualist
Necromancer
Ritualist and Assassin are definitely fun too. Ritualists are fun because I enjoy spirit spamming, and assassins because you can jump around all over the place and do some massive damage.
As far as fun goes, i love to play a Ritualist w/ communing skills. Pretty much like a modified spirit spammer. Wanderlust is great for a laugh when someone gets stuck in a KD cycle. For wins/points/faction..its usually a rt/mo for just pure healing. I know with a half ars team, i can get to atleast 10 in random. the rit is a great all around i believe...and leaves you open to most other classes too as secondary.
Which Final Fantasy Character Are You?
Final Fantasy 7
So far my favorite profession combo is Ranger/Assassin
I don't really have a favorite single class. They all have strengths and weaknesses.
"A ship-of-war is the best ambassador." - Oliver Cromwell
warrior monk ofcourse gotta love the killer combo these 2 make but all time favorite class if eye of north brawling so much fun running around beating on people
The character I play the most at the moment is a Necromancer which I find to be fantastic for PvE (Esspecially Minion Master builds), but really difficult in PvP.
My mesmer has my heart though. Only warning on mesmers though is that while they have the potential to do ridiculous amounts of damage when handled right, they're absolute waifs. Which I guess is why I play them... I get teased all the time for playing the high maintenence professions. My many D&D bards give that away.
