Hey I'm most likeley getting a new computer for christmas, I'm 14(note) anyways, I've palyed FFXI, SWG, WoW, MxO, and sadly lv 103 on runescape haha, anyways, I'm debating over like 4 games, Tabula Rasa, Lord of the Rings Online(sounds awesome^^), Age of Conan, or should I wait for Warhammer Online. I'm really considering LOTR but on all of the videos that I've watched over it. I've never seen like lots of people, I really want a game with lots of players, don't wanna feel like i'm in a  ghost town. Anyways your help is NEEDED! THANKS

I would try Vanguard, as much has changed since launch. The game is so much more fun now then before. I think  it reached its low mark a few months ago and has been improving steadily the last few months. At release it was not so fun but it has changed so much that I was really surprised. I think it has improved to the point where its almost ready for a relaunch.

Tabula Rasa is fresh, new, and exciting. Great gameplay, combat similar to (old) SWG. The evil aliens constantly take over towns and bases and players have to retake them. Good player base. and tons of new stuff coming out since the game is new.

Vanguard is kind of desolate. I played it with a friend for a while and it was pretty bad.

Its not desolate these days. Its getting some good press now that the game is mostly fixed which has brought some new players in and some old players back. They are also offering old players a free month starting the 20th I think.

It used to be desolate I agree, but I have found that not to be the case of late. I can't say it has as many players as Tabula which is spanking new but Vanguard has become really fun at least for me. They really are very different games so we need to find out what the OP is looking for. One is Fantasy, the other is Sci Fi. One is very like EQ and the other is very fast paced, almost FPS but I would say better then SWG.

For me, personally I could not stand LOTR online. I played the beta right up to before they went public with it. There were lots of people playing, but I think the two big things were the UI and I also was not completely familiar with the LOTR history, so most of the game was a big "who did what now"  even though sometimes it did explain to you about what is going on. I did enjoy all the rewards you can get for playing but even those can get a little confusing to the new/casual player.  Plus all the major cities were kinda blah to me.

I think Warhammer online will be a big killer of other MMO's. Just like WoW the previous games and lore of them are followed heavily and I hear nothing but praises when it comes to this game.

Your best bet with any of the ones you are looking at is, find a friend or someone who plays it and can maybe give you a trial code, or even check their websites for beta testing sign ups and stuff.  Or wait and see if on here they give codes

Vanguard = Complex, old-school MMO (small to medium player base)

LotR Online = WoW but LotR. Didn't like beta and trial (medium to large player base)

Tabula Rasa = Simple, Action-oriented, very little grinding (medium almost large player base)

Tabula Rasa sounds cool, I'll probably go with that one. I played SWG after I heard it got nerfed and I really liked it, but it was like the world was so big and there wasn't any people playing. It seemed as if there were like 100 people playing.

Depends on what server you play on with SWG.  Chilastra for instance has a fairly healthy population.  SOE got a little carried away with introducing new servers back in the first year of the game so the populations are rather spread out.  With 26 servers, I believe only WoW has more.
