No big AAA title will ever let you keep your toons, would be a bad mistake if they did. beyond that its because what your playing isnt the final build of the game and your charector would likely be filled with broken/out of date code items and quest and moves and abilty
I would think not. In a game with a good deal put into PvP, characters being higher level at start would be an advantage over those who didnt have the chance.
At best, and I mean best case, what I think you'd see is a couple day headstart for people who preordered the game.
It doesnt make a whole lot of sense to allow people to keep characters that were able to reap the benefits that they may have gained during beta in a live release.
Unfortunetly in today's MMO world everyone is so concerned with leveling as fast as possible, that it would cause a huge uproar if some people were higher level at the start
yet i really have to ask, why would you want to? its a game, and if it is so boring to level that you would rather skip the first levels, why play it?
Why is this question always asked, when the infomation for those lucky enought to get into Beta's is already there in that list of text you usually click accept on. If not it is always mentioned somewhere else that you will not get to keep your characters/toons when the game goes retail.
The only ones i have actually seen that do let you keep have been the asian ones (LoM2, LoM3, MoS etc). But hell that was known a month before monthly charge's would start up.
Will you be able to keep your beta charactors when the game launched in March?
Why ask this question the answer is always NO, not gonna happen NEVER!!
Why is that? LoTRO had it, PoTBS will have it, and a whole lot more that i dont know of, but they had a max lvl on say, 15 or 20ish that u could get in the open beta. but its a mistake imo, in PoTBS if u pre-order u get to keep ur beta char, and get a 15 day headstart, so when it launches alot of ppl will be max lvl >< fucks it up for the new players imo.
Really? I was under the impression that when Potbs gets released the beta characters will all be wiped, however if you pre ordered you would get a 2 week head start (depending on when you receieved your copy), as sometimes this could turn into 2 days. Lotro had the same thing too.

I vote NO!!
So basically, they wiped all characters, and allowed you get a few levels which were capped during what they called the last phase of Open Beta?
That sounds a lot like the little free-head start other companies have used, and not like people keeping max level beta characters and so on.
Lotro did not have it, the pre-orders got a few days of headstart, just a marketing ploy to get people to pre order because they just HAVE to be first at their strange race to the top so they can whine about the lack of stuff to do...

Ack, the truth...sadly but yes...
And actually you got a few weeks headstart in Lotro just as you will get in Pirates of the burning sea, but in both cases this is with a level cap.
And NO, you will not get to keep your beta character, the game is not even in open beta yet. I hope you are not playing the game as a level race already but are rather WORKING on finding the bugs! At least that is what beta-testers are supposed to do, especially in closed beta!

test the game? that's a novel idea! maybe we could call it beta and invite bunches of people to help us. sadly 90%+ do not do this and yet they come here to complain about how bad the game is and aren't going to play it anymore. tell me how bad it is after it goes live otherwise just shut up.

HA, I'd be happy just to get into beta.

I wonder why people always ask this question?

Aye wasn't it like 10 days of "pre-order start" you got?
