Population?

So hows the population? i want to come back to the game, but the only thing i am worried about is the population. If you barely see anyone, and its a ghost town like SWG was with NGE, then i really dont want to play. I like finding groups easily, and seeing other people venturing around. When i played at release, it was even a little sad then, the capital cities were not populated at all. How are cities now?

I reactivated a couple of days ago and play on Seradon server; and I can asure you, there are plenty of people around. Actually more so than what I expected, since my old server was not that active when I played a couple of weeks during the summer.

VG is that good currently that I will stick with it for a while.

Just got a buddy key 4 days ago  so after installing & 15 hours of updating I logged in the first thing I noticed  was all but 1 server was listed as Low population with one being Medium  so I start a character on the Med server , the game runs 10-15% better since SOE took over so thats a Plus  but after about 15-20 hours of gameplay I saw a total of 5 other players , all be it I only made lvl 16 , so maybe most of the playerbase if lvl 40+ so I never saw em ..

As I wrote above, my experience is not at all as yours. It sure depends on where you are, which in turn depends on your level and race etc., but I just logged out of a three hours gaming session and I have easily seen far above 50 people. But then I have mostly been flying around on my Randolph (I dare SOE  try to take away my Randolph after the holidays!) in places as Khal, Ahgram, Hathor Zhi and CIS.

There are people and plenty of them but, just as in real life, they tend to cluster. And VG is huge!

well, after reading the silky venom forums, the people there make it sound like vanguard is dead still, but i hear the opposite here, so i do not know what to believe right now

If you are level 50 it is populated.  If you are under 40 it is not.

Really, hmm will have to go and take a look on that one because so far i have seen all but 2 other players in 4 hrs (which was when i had grown completly bored and logged out).

Oh incidently, all 4 servers showed LOW population levels, not once have i seen anything differant. This 1 month free play to all old accounts offer could be a last ditch attempt to try and bring enough new players back over to the game, but it is still dissapointing.

Lagg (even if you are the only one in town), Weather, still shows whether your inside a building or not, Graphics look somewhat dated by at least 2yrs or so, Character portrait, changes from what you originally made to some random garbage (yup, that bug is still there) and of course the empty gameworld.

Ok so you may have to be lvl 50 to see people about, but how the hell are you going to get up that high, your going to be bored trying and will struggle too (if its at all possible to get that high solo). Thanks but i certainly wont be forking out any money or payment for this game at all, not at this moment in time. I will still pop in now and again during the given free play month (if i find myself bored), but from what i have seen so far, it has been unimpressive to say the least.

Well, got to say it. Since AoC launches soon enough why would anyone in their right mind join Vanguard? With no new players this game is doomed, what a mistake to launch with bugs. Right on top of the SUPER monster of MMORPGs first expansion too, Vanguard will limp along and gradually bleed along to nothing at all.

No wonder the posters on Silky Venom are unloading, it is utterly hopeless.

If you have any questions please ask. I have moved on to WoW from eq and no longer have any desire to play a dead game. Thank you. (posted by another selling his account in EQ1)

In all honesty silky venom is a giant anti-SOE fest... dont believe everything you read.

The populations on Xeth and the S server (apologies I dont remember its name) are fine.  The world in vanguard is H U G E so it can be very misleading.  I hadn't seen people when I rolled a new char on Xeth in Tursh and I was a bit concerned.  Then I typed /who and got the who report for tursh and it maxed out, there were ample people and I talked to a few guild mates and no one has any trouble finding picking groups, etc...

So give the game a go, and give the gameplay a chance....

Its kinda funny.  Most gamers today want their MMORPG's to be 99.99% solo friendly, hate forced grouping, can't stand it when someone else camps their favorite hunting spot (so they prefer instanced content), and think the folks in general chat are all retards or leet kiddies. The rest of the server is made up of asshats and noobs.

But in every game, we want to see lots of people around.

    Go figure.

Who the hell are you, and why should I care?
Congrats! You are a victim of Trollstar!
