ive seen a lot of people on the forums asking wots the best server for theirm alt and im a bit confused number 1 why would you want an alt on a different server than your main char and number 2 how? isnt every acount based on one server rather each char on one server

i probably got somat wrong here

    First:

    Having an alt on another server is no different than having one on the opposite side - Horde if you alliance and Alliance if you are horde.  Most folks have atleast one on each side.

     

    Second:

    I believe that you can have as many alts on as many servers as you want.  just change the realm your on, I think its right on top of the character screen.

    You are almost right FOC. Basically you can have up to eight (I think that's the number) characters on each server from what I understand. So you can have hundreds of characters if you so choose.

    To change realms (like FOC said): When you log in to your account, it brings you to the last server you played on. When you are on your character screen, in the upper right hand corner there is a red button named 'Change Realm'. Click on that, and you can pick any realm you would like to play on.

    Also remember, on PvP servers, you can only have alts on one faction. Horde OR Alliance.
