NOTE: BEFORE YOU READ, DO NOT ASSUME THAT I WORK FOR AERIA, AND/OR AM TRYING TO BE COMPLETELY BIASED. I AM NOT.
All in all, the graphics are beautiful, the destiny system is genious, you can fly at level 15, you can customize just about EVERYTHING besides your clothes, the combat system is pretty great.
Lastly, my favorite part, the city has a GIGANTIC square, (Perfect for events and holding a lot of people.)
Now, on the negative side, its a pretty grind heavy game, and doesn't have a large-scale Pvp system yet, but what else is to be expected from a game still in closed beta?
All in all, this game has quite a bit of potential.
Though, I guess my word isn't going to forge your opinion, you just have to test it out yourself.

Not saying its the best thing ever, but itsdefinitely one of thebest betas I have ever been in. The multi-classing (kinda) it has is really good...reminds me of FF Tactics. I also really enjoy how the it doesn't take itself too seriously.
PuPu Paper....thats all I'm gonna say.
Eh...5.5 is only the "hyper" rating, which has nothing to do with quality of the game itself. Given that this game is little known in the west, a low number is expected. To get hyper rating up, Aeria & Gametribe will have to spend more on ads.
Once released, I expect the "user" rating to be much higher than the hyper rating since it's such a quality game.
Well, I guess that makes sense, they havent really advertised much.
This is probably the best free MMO I have ever played and I have played dozens of them.
I love the multi classing
I love the combat
I love the cinematic story telling
It does get to be a grind but I never got bored with it because of the quests
Also, the graphics are very good and run surprisingly well on my dated computer.
Low polygon, poorly toon rendered graphics are "very good" ?... man you guys need to play some better games if you think thats "very good" maybe in 02' those were good for an MMO =/
Huh.. good doesn't means AWESOME! If you like a 3D image with loads of crap on it, try Eve or some maps of Lineage 2, if you want a REAL artistic 2D draw, welcome to DOMO!
And yes, i was a graphic entusiastic, after i left Tibia (yeah.. no graphics and sounds) for MU, then Diablo, Lineage, Rappelz, etc. i found out i like more gameplay than dozens of 3D polygons bluring my view.
Anyway.. DOMO stills a good try, *** Calling ppl for high scores on release!
vA!
I was quite surprised at how much I liked this game. The classing system gets tons of kudos from me. The graphics were very nice and fantastical, just the way I like them. Anyway
what is the deal with everyone wanting "realistic" visuals in their fantasy games. Ugh, I get enough "realism" irl, thanks. Don't need it in my games. The level of customization was nice even in beta. I hope that Aeria and Gametribe put more effort into advertising this sweet game!
I also had a lot of fun in the closed beta. The skill system is especially nice.
This game is a blast. I love the fact that you can try out all of the classes. Combing skills from multiple classes is great.
I feel that all the quests move you along for the first 20 levels nicely. It never seemed like a grind, I always had goals along the way.
I liked the graphics, I liked the flying, I liked the diversity of playing.
I can't wait for the open beta to start again!

It's called cell shading. And it's a rather nice alternative graphics wise. Gives the game a different feel than others, almost like playing a cartoon or animated movie. And maybe you had better play some better games if you base your opinions of a game based on it's graphics.

Well for you yea maby it not your game type but others love others hate it
Well I'm giving it a try and really its not that bad of a game for being a free Asian MMO. Sure its kinda silly but the grafics look nice, the UI is easy to use and the movement and combat is decent. The quests are pretty good and the grind is typical of many MMOs.
TBH it's better than any free MMO I've played and more closley resembles a P2P in quality. There seems to be alot of players in this game so finding groups is pretty easy and there is plenty to explore. It's worth a shot for sure.
Yeah, So I'm still confused how this got a 5.5...
I think we'll see the hype meter continue to climb on DOMO more people discover it
And I think tillamook's post pretty much nailed why it has a hype rating of 5.5.Yeah, So I'm still confused how this got a 5.5...
After reading the entire thread I'd have to agree with it...doesn't generate much excitement for me anyways.
I mean, lets start with the title... Dream of Mirror... sounds like a bad translation of something...

I discovered the game by accident (got a CB invitation) and much to my surprise it turned out to be way better than expected. Sure, it's targeted for the younger players, but it's actually GOOD: the graphics are nice and very neat designed (take the dust clouds that appear behind you when running - the second you step on grass, they become little pieces of scattered grass). The sounds are ok, and the music si great - very relaxing, adequate (it switches from generic to combat type songs during fights, which is again a nice touch, it shows a keen eye for details).
Possibly the best thing about the game is the combat system: the game allows you to learn various jobs, each giving unique skills that can be combined or the ability to fight with certain weapons; this makes the PvP and even training very interesting and entertaining, because you might never know what combos your opponent has chosen. Jobs can be switched at any time, however they require separate leveling (you can be a lvl 15 citizen and a lvl 10 swordman); this means you can pick whatever you want, but you should focus on just 2 max 3, because it takes time to level up the skills.
As far as I had the time to test the game (CB + OB) it was pretty much lag free, which is again a plus.
It really is a very nice game, designed to offer a very friendly atmosphere (the game offers some little in game rewards to the ones that decide to help the new players) and make you actually relax and enjoy playing it.
Attention to detail is a very important thing to have brought up, at least for me anyway.
I've played more MMO's than I care to even mention. My friends and I are about as unbiased a group of individuals as you will ever find. We are able to see and discuss flaws in things we love, and success in things we hate. The amount of detail and attention to it are very much a large part of why I love this game.
Like gathering, lets discuss that. Gathering can be done completely AFK, simply que up the process and it completes itself, pockets the goods, and restarts automatically. This provides a rather nice way to generate income even from early levels when not playing the game at all. The fact that they chose to make an aspect of the MMO genre which is mostly reviled actually something rather positive is great.
Multiclassing, as it is seen here, not only changes the way we look at alternate character...but redefines how we see our character as a whole. Combined with pure statistical control (complete with a guideline given for each class as to which stats are ideal) opens up more freedom in character development than I have seen in a long time. As a matter of fact...I haven't enjoyed this element in an MMO since before SWG was destroyed.
Quests are beyond plentiful, and there is a very powerful story-driven element to them that makes the process able to be enjoyed for its own sake, rather then JUST the reward itself. Most quests even up the reward ante in some way for bringing back more than was asked. I'll admit some of the quests are a migraine (One particular, from the mayor of Eversun, comes to mind. ) but they were in no way required to move ahead.
Within the first 15 levels I already found 3 instanced scenarios to complete, each with varying options for solo attempts or group efforts. I also noticed a section in town for guild based objectives...though I digress I haven't gotten far enough along yet to test these out.
The community has proven to be both enjoyable and friendly. I have spent some time already talking to random people and overall have found the experience to be the best of any game I've played. Naturally, this matter is subject to change as the game grows. I think though that the Cell-Shading, cartoony nature of the game will weed out a lot of the "L33T" crowd which tend to plauge the spirit of an MMO community.
Don't get me wrong, it does have faults. The world is very linear so far...and with only one server in open beta so far the early level areas are pretty crowded with people over spawns. The respawn rate is extremely high, so this has not yet caused me any trouble...there has always been somewhere to go that I could farm peacefully.
Travel before flight is slow, though this is typical of an MMO.
There a places in the world where you can get stuck on objects. There is an unstuck feature which will return you to wherever you entered the zone.
<< >> MY game is bugged graphically so that my landscape textures don't show sometimes...and instead I get a layer of pure blue or orange instead of the ground. But thats just me so far.
Yes this game is a pleasent surprise this year i just hope that the cartoony graphics don't make ppl think its a kiddy game ppl tend to look at the screenies and say "a a kids game it probably sucks...".So everyone besides the cartoon graphics this game its pretty hard so i ask you to give it a try you just my find the game you looked 4 all this years.
