I know that request will fall on deaf ears but please, let's keep this thread free of "I wont play TR" posts 'couse nobody cares.
Just before I started TR bets I went back to WoW for the 50th time but just could not handle the stupidity of huge raids and the grind.
Before then I went back to Vanguard to see how it is now, and that was just a huge mistake.

I haven't quit my other MMO for TR just yet. Lord of the Rings Online is what I was, and still play. kinda difficult to completely leave sucha great Kinship(Guild) like the one I have in LOTRO.
I quit WOW for TR.
Well......i was playing SWG again for about 8 months, but quit about 2 months before TR's launch. I mostly quit (again) due to not having enough time to be able to enjoy SWG, also had tried Vanguard and again if i had more time to play these games i would have as they still are the more classic type of mmoRPG's i truly love. Also can really enjoy games like Cod4 (finished but to damn short not set foot in multy.... yet) Crysis (paradise lost chapter...feeling i'm nearing the end...)
TR however for me that is......is more a MMO then what i would consider a full mmoRPG, but it has many elemements/feature's i really enjoy, the grouping, the going duo, playing solo, which is very well implemented and yes most feature's we already know out of other MMO/RPG's but i haven't seen them implemented the way TR has nailed it in a pretty good way, the combat (only talking pve wise, not yet going into pvp as many things needs to be worked out first before i feel i might enjoy that part personaly in TR), for example the combat in TR COULD have been what the NGE in SWG was meant to be, but the NGE did not even come close to how very well it's done in TR ( to be clear i did return in SWG this year but not for combat reasons, i went full crafter which i enjoyed for those 8 months....again...pre-cu will always be in my mind/hart as being my best mmoRPG experiance i ever had and never felt that feeling again in a mmoRPG type of way)
TR has done many things right like the ammount of detail in combat is something that i felt was lacking in almost every other MMO/RPG i have played or tested, the way one hit's a target, the way mobs fall down and get back up their feet, the mobs voice's and really listen to what they say in combat (overall combat sounds of weapon fire/trace/impact/miss is very cool to watch, the way i sometimes play hide&seek with some bosses running around a tree and moving back seeing how the AI corrects itself pretty decent and sometimes just awesome, how wildlife interacts, how spawns works, yes all games have done it but again not many have nailed it the way TR has in a MMO.
I feel that some people rush too much thru these type of games, totaly missing out on the details of a game but only foccesed on lvl/gear/weapons. So for me TR offers allot of things done correctly in a MMO, maybe it will grow and become more of a MMORPG the way i see a mmoRPG, but it's sure is a fun and entertaining experiance which is my reason to play it.
Just as Reklaw.
I been playing SWG since 2002 and still play it, but not as much as I used to. I havent left SWG yet, but I was really playing Guild Wars/HGL prior to my TR experience.
i was trying out all the FtP games and then AO, which was fun but just looked so dated. i quit wow before expansion, left CoX after i got bored running the same missions over and over again. but mask of the betrayer will cut into some TR time. at the moment i got a 33 sniper, 30 spy and 15 sapper.
I didn't quit anything for Tabula Rasa. I just got bored of WoW so I needed to find something else to do to take up my time. And so I figured I'd try out Tabula Rasa.
I was playing a little City of Heroes while waiting for this launch. I did a little beta testing for TR but mostly that just showed me that my computer was crud and needed an overhaul.
I built this nice new Quad overclocked to Einsteinian relativistic levels, Zelman 9700-chillin' in a shiney Armor Jr case with all the bells and whistles and a new 8800 GPU ... then I excitedly jumped into post launch TR.
Now, a week later I excitedly cancelled my subscription and will go backward from the normal flow and try World of Warcraft.
I have had no interest in that game but, 9 million people? All the other games combined don't have that population? OK, I surrender I will give it a month or two until a good game comes out.

Eve online has been my gaming love going on 2 years now. Since I started playing TR I have done little in the game of EVE though I continue to train up. I find the more I play TR the more addicted I become. Lucky for me I dont have an abundance of time to game, other wise I think I would develop bed sores on my ass. I had gone back to SWG to see if the changes were worth a crap and wasn't at all suprised when I saw that it still was broken. Needless to say I canceled the account again after only a week. I have had a blast with TR. I got into beta for it and then after beta closed I found that I was itching to play it again. I was going to hold out for Huxley but the itch got to be like a bad case of the clap. War was also on my must do list but even that game may fall to the way side which is a big thing because I'm a huge fan of mythic. Perhaps by the time WAR or Huxley comes out I'll feel like playing them again but for now Rasa has giving me the same enjoyment I experienced the first time I played an MMO. It took along time to find a game that could do that.
Rest easy, sleep well my brothers.
Know the line has held, your job is done.
Rest easy, sleep well.
Others have taken up where you fell, the line has held.
Peace, peace, and farewell.
As we write about games and other whimsical things let us not forgot whats truly important. Remember our fallen brothers and sisters who have given there life blood so we can enjoy the freedom we share. Say a prayer or a quite thanks to the men and women of the armed forces who have and are serving in the world on this day and everyday. Thank you for holding the line.
I did quit wow about 2 month before the release of TR ...I would never regret this!
I havent quit a game for a long time and i dont plan to, so i play EVE one day, and Tabula the other, that´works fine for me
Active : EVE-Online seens beta.
I've played WoW for a month and EQ2 for 2 years, so far it's just been 3 days but, it was well worth my time I believe this may succeed other mmorpgs in time.
Played/playing SWG and this atm. Although the pace at which SWG is progressing is really slow now that it is 4 years old. TR has a lot of potential, and the features coming up soon are something I am very excited about. If they put in a good pvp end game system then i'm going to quit swg.
Well i didnt quiet any other mmo specificly to play TR, however i quiet a few mmo's about 2 months before TR came out. I am specificly waiting for Aion to coming out in the first quarter of 2008, and i am playing TR to hold me over until then.
So far i have to say that im happy with TR, "in my oppinion there's not another mmo out right now thats worth playing". So im sticking it out until Aion, then i'll have a tough desicion to make, which NCsoft game do i play, because im not paying for 2 games a month.

I quit WoW after 2.5 years. tried (and gave up on) EQ2, LOTRO, DDO, and CoH (and a few other acronyms, heh) over the course of the year.
Tabula Rasa is the first MMO I've played in 2007 to grab me and not let go. EQ2 came close....but then the terminal grind and boredome kicked in. So far, TR has managed to sidestep all the "no-nos" I look for in a "bad" MMO. It's a helluva lotta fun, looking forward to playing this one for a long time!
