Quest limits?

I realize that you can complete a quest that requires you to kill 20 bears without even picking the quest up, but my question is, if you choose to collect a bunch of quests before attempting to complete them, will there be a limit to how many you can have at one time?

Probably not, since technically you already have all of the quests.

Good question.  It does seem to be an industry standard within MMORPG's that players have a set ammount of objectives that can be completed at once.  Since "Kill Quests" only make a up a portion of available quests there is a limit of how many quests you can actually complete without having received the assignment from an NPC.  Keeping this in mind, anybody could potentially abandon or quit a kill quests in order to make room for something else, especially since your Tome of Knowledge will record the kills anyway.

Now keeping an open mind about the Tome of Knowledge however might just suprise us.  The ToK seems to record all in game events, and based off of various screen shots it also gives alot of backround information for the story line.  Since I don't forsee anything being removed from the ToK once it is written, I guess the real question is if quests are placed directly into your ToK, or if their is a seperate UI for that specific component.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the answer is YES - quests are placed directly into the Tome of Knowledge, and previously completed quests that pertain to the story can be read even after they have been completed.  With this in mind, my guess would be that you can have up to 30 incomplete quests active at any given time, seems to be the average among most AAA MMORPG's.

I don't believe you will ever have to worry about completing too many kill quests before turning them in.  The reason they are working the way they do is that the ToK (and the database) tracks every kill you ever make.  The only time I see you needing to delete a kill quest is if you have a bunch in your quest log that you have not yet completed.

Remember, one of the points of the kill quest system is that you may not even know that something you are killing has  quest related to it.  Limiting the number of kill quests you can have completed would directlu contradict their stated goal - at least it seems like it would to me.

There is also no programming reason to do it.  There is no database limit they are hitting - the tracking is built into the base db already and is not actually an additional burden like a quest log is.  It has to be done this way since the ToK tracks every kill you make.  This means that the db already must have a field for 'killed creature x' for every creature in the game.

The way I understood it , is that all the progress you make (kill , gathering , etc wise..) is recorded and counted toward any non-chain quests (so no limit). Getting the quests beforehand just allow you to track down progress. (probably limited in number , because of limited storage space in the ToK)

That's the way I understand it. My guess is that there won't be a limit. You may be goofing off and kill around 20 bears and later find a quest asking you to kill 30. You accept the quest and automatically have 20/30 bears killed.

think it was Paul that statet long time ago "everything you do and have ever done is recorded in tome of knowledge" so i guess all q will be to find there, and there is over 12k unlucks so far in it as well. so im pretty sure there will be no limit for quests ..
