Ok I have tried playing this but was wondering why some of these things are the way they are , if anyone could enlightne me on the subject I would love to know the thinking behind this.
1.Why are the guilds/ parties so small? I mean why have them so limited? I mean on the games I have played I could have wars with thousands of people not just 12. It really limits the whole point of having guilds or clans if you can only have a small team. What about mass scale battles?
2. why is it no matter what character I play on I have to have the same friends list? I was a bit confused about that because on other games when I make other players i only want a select few to talk to me there .. more like "call screening" I don't feel like talking to everyone all the time, just curious as to why it would be made that way.
3. why did people have to be in my party to see them while questing? I mean when I started the game there was no one out during the quests, so no one to talk to .. it was very lonely. I met one girl that accompained me on a quest then turned out to be a creepy guy dressed up as a girl that was only helping me to hit on me.
4. the way the game is set up is so that you have to join a guild to do most things in the game, but then when you start out all you have are lil 13 yr old boys playing with their pixel girly parts asking you to join their guild =s. Like who in their right mind would want to join that guild?!! Anyhow the question is this.. when players start out how do they find out more information about the guilds such as .. average player age in guild, common interests, and where they are from? I mean no one wants to be stuck in a guild that they have nothing in common with the other members that would be torture not fun.

if there were hundreds of people in guild wars i think there would be to much madness the point of the 12 of 12 is for strategy and using skill
dont really know i guess they just wanted you to have one combined thing
its probably so that you dont have those people that go around stealing kills from people just to annoy them and following them around just things like that
well it is called GUILD wars so it kinda makes since that its centered mostly around guilds
anyones thats just what i think
ROFLMAO........ Why else would the game be called Guild Wars and not be centered around guilds. *Palm To Face*
I think you misunderstood what i was asking.... Yes it is centered around guilds, but the limitations do not allow for example for me to bring my 600 person clan to a game like this simply because it is so limited in the way of guilds. And if you think that 12 on 12 requires strategy and skills what about 200 vs 200? That requires more skill and strategy than a small scale battle. you have to have teams of all kinds of fighters and have them all work together which is alot more strategy than small teams. Anyhow the question was not it being centered around guilds .. it was about how the applications to guilds are done, I mean who would want to mindlessly join any guild? I like hatebreed the last thing i want to do is be teamed up with some Noob who thinks pop is music... so what is their system in guild wars for finding out more about the guilds prior to joining? The ages of players, their interests, and their location to ensure that the people in the guild actually get along.
Welcome to Guild Wars, the game that isn't character focused, but focused on playing the game
a lil info from Guild Wiki:
Guild
From Guild Wars Wiki
A guild is the primary mechanism within the game to allow players to group together. Players are not required to join a guild, and choosing not to join a guild will not prevent enjoyment of the game. The benefits of being in a guild are having access to a guild hall and having the ability to take part of guild versus guild (GvG) battles. This is in addition to the social benefits of being grouped together with other players as a unit.
Joining a guild is account-based. This means that if one character joins a guild, all other current or future characters in that account will be of the same guild, until membership is revoked or removed.
Creating a guild
A guild is created by paying 100 to the guild registrar. The player forming the guild will become the guild leader.
The name of the guild must be provided at the point of creation, along with an abbreviation or tag. The name must be unique among all guilds and has a limit of 31 characters (including spaces). The tag can be 2 to 4 characters long and does not need to be unique. The guild tag will appear as a suffix to the names of all characters belonging to that guild.
It is important to note that once a guild has been created, the name of the guild cannot be changed.
To view the guild, open the guild window (default shortcut "G"). Guild details and announcements are near the top of the window, and a guild roster can be seen at the bottom. The guild roster is grouped by rank; with currently logged-on members ordered alphabetically at the top of each group, and logged-out members ordered by the duration since they last logged-on.
Expanding the guild
Once a guild has been created, the guild leader can start sending out invitations to other players. Each guild may contain a maximum of 100 players. Note that there are three ranks that can be assigned to guild members:
Only the guild leader and the guild's officers have the ability to invite other players to join the guild. Each invitation will cost 100. In addition to sending out invitations, they will also possess the ability to promote normal members to become officers, and to kick members out of the guild.
They can also invite other players to their guild hall as guests, which costs 100 per guest invitation. Guests are allowed to take part in GvG battles for the host guild up to 8 hours, after which the invitation expires. Guests that belong to another guild will still retain membership in their own guilds. Note that the guild must possess a guild hall before guest invitations can be sent out. Guests do not count towards the limit on the number of players in a guild.
In addition to all of the above, the guild leader also possesses the ability to demote officers to members, and to promote another officer to become the guild leader (thereby demoting himself or herself to being an officer).
To promote or demote a guild member, open the guild window and locate the members name in the roster. Click on the icon next to the name to see the available options. Select the appropriate option to perform the action.
Guild cape
Every guild can design a cape for their members to wear. The cape is meant to help distinguish players of one guild from another. It is purely cosmetic and does not grant any advantages or disadvantages.
To design a cape, simply talk to a guild emblemer. Any guild member or officer can design a cape, but only the guild leader is allowed to buy or change it. Buying a cape design or altering it costs 2 each.
Guild hall
A guild is not supplied with a guild hall upon creation. It must be purchased with a Celestial Sigil. To take part in GvG battles, a guild must first purchase a guild hall.
All the guild halls can be visited prior to any purchase by talking to the Canthan Ambassador (in any of the port towns). Each of the guild halls visited in this manner will also have a Sigil Trader in it. To visit another guild hall, or to purchase the current guild hall, talk to the Canthan Ambassador again.
Once purchased, all members of the guild can now access the guild hall directly via the guild window. The one exception are new characters in the Prophecies campaign — Pre-Searing characters cannot enter the guild hall.
Leaving a guild
To leave a guild, open up the guild window and locate the name of one's character. Click on the icon next to the name and select the option to leave the guild. Note that once membership is lost, whether by voluntarily leaving a guild or by having the membership revoked, it is permanent, and a new invitation (costing another 100) must be received to rejoin the guild.
A guild leader cannot leave a guild that still has other members. The guild leader must first designate another officer as the new guild leader (so as to demote oneself).
Disbanding a guild
A guild that still has members cannot be disbanded. The guild leader must first kick every member out of the guild. When the guild has no other members, the icon next to the guild leader's name (in the guild window) will show a "Disband Guild" option.
Be warned that once a guild has been disbanded, anything previously purchased (cape, guild hall, and guild services) will be lost and is neither recoverable nor refundable.
Alliance
The release of Guild Wars Factions introduced a new facet to guilds — alliances. An alliance is a grouping of a maximum of 10 guilds. Before joining an alliance or creating one, a guild must first decide on its allegiance, either to the Kurzicks or to the Luxons; all the guilds in an alliance with the same faction to earn faction points. Each invitation to join an alliance will cost 1. Being in an alliance allows members of all those guilds to participate in alliance battles.
Guild Wars is 100% instanced and based around team make up, meaning that teams between 4 and 8 depending on what area you are in... Especially for Pvp for balance issues and the fact its 100% instanced and has no persistant areas like WoW
The game is account based aswell, unlike other games that are character based, meaning that your friends list and guild carries over for all the characters on your account aswell
Overall your post is a hair from being a troll post and only because you responded back to another post did I actually take the time to answer rather than dismiss you out of hand.
Your first two questions are ones that players can't change or explain because it was the developers idea, the last two you could research for yourself. I hope my answers provided you with some ideas to move you on the right path...
Good luck.

Well fromt eh looks of it hammer, she plays Runescape and was asking in another area of the forum about a US client for it... and we all know what Runescape is like
Actually I play a girl acc because I am a girl.. but the guy pretended to be a girl then turned out to be a creepy guy instead LOL. Anyhow yes I have dealt with some of that in other games, but this guy was really creepy / stalker type and waitied till we were out "alone" on a quest to start being really creepy. anyhow.. The fact that I couldn;t see other players that were actually out doing things was why I didn't give this much of a chance, it made it hard to find players with common interests that way. I didn't play very long because it lost my attention after a few quests and I wasn't going to ask clan mates to come play a game until I have tried it. Now what I was not aware of was that you could have up to 100 people in the guild and then you can have battles breaking up into smaller teams? That is good new to me because I was really put off by the 12 player parties. I have not tried looking for clans with websites and that was what I was asking about. If Gws actually had some place for people to have information posted within it to allow to find out more about it before you play. Anyhow thank you for your responses, The fact that guilds can be 100 players makes it a better game in my eyes, too bad we can't all fight at once though... I kinda thrive on the strategy and chaos involved in such massive battles.. i chaos lol.. Yes some people are intimidated by those but some of us live for it.
yes, we all know what runescape is like .. it had alot of content, but needs alot of work. and i was not asking for a us client lmao.. I was asking for a new game entirely with american rules similar to runescape in that you have one player that can do anything in the game, many combat and noncombat skills, pvp same level, pvp any level, pve mass clan wars, many character appearance customizarion, and combat and non combat areas to train in. Those quick to dismiss runescape based on their poor graphics and point and click movement fail to find out about the good concepts the game once had. I would love to see an american version of this.. not java based.. with better graphics, wasd control and point and click options, more player freedoms, quality quests and skills. I have played many games not just mmorpgs, which include but not limited to : mortal kombat(the best game ever made ) , Diablo2, red alert, lords of the realm2, ceasar, WOW, silkroad, empire earth and the list goes on and on .. xbox games such as halo , and the final fantasy series on playstation, but in all honesty runescape kept my attention longest simply because of having the one character that can do all part of it and the pvp content. I could mage while wearing melee gear, i liked the switching of combat styles and the unpredictability of what your opponent would do next. since you could virtually do anything in battle. They killed that part of the game though by wiping out the pvp areas, so I am sure you will be hearing from alot of clans looking for a new start elsewhere.
Get started in GW's now, cos GW2 sounds liek its going to be right up your street
and if you need help, just catch me in game (Tyr Dominator) or through my xfire or the radio station (as I'm the official Guild Wars community rep for the station)

Fair enough, honestly i didn;t read the full extent of that post, but as I said in the post above, if you need a hand, just shout
Lmao at number 3 haha thats funny, you have got to watch out for that!

Well there are Alliance Battles which is 12v12. That's a Factions-exclusive form of PvP though and accessed through one's Guild Hall.
ok the reason why 12v12 is better than 200v200 is in 200v 200 you can just sit around and omg i just won yay as in 12v12 you have to do something to win. -oh no a big group of people are attacking the rez shrine i have to try to help them thats for 12v12 and this is for 200v200 -hey guys look at my wierd dance -cool -hey guys -what -we just won lol. Arena Net picked 12v12 over 200v200 because you want big battles but not to big battles that you can just sit around and win.
