Out of all the mage archtypes which is the most powerfull spell slinger of the archtypes???

    The demonologist is supposed to be the main caster, but I believe it also gets a demon pet, so its role is not just casting.

    Aye the Domonologist and Necromancer both have Direct damage spells, Herald of Xotli and Lich are more of  meele mages :)

    Your choice might be narrowed down to only 3 classes in the end, since according to all rumors and deleted posts, it looks like Lich class won't make it.

    Note that NONE Of the classes in the game appear to fit perfectly with your 'typical' MMOG class archetype. You know them from those MMOGs that don't care to individualize their classes. Like WoW with it's typical 'rogue, warrior, mage, cleric, paladin, etc..' In AoC each class is pretty different from your standard. Some classes are fairly typical, but most take rather different spins on your typical MMOG class. I for one love that about the game.
    AOC Demonologist = WOW Warlock

    I hate pet classes, and I REALLY hate having to be a pet class in order to PvP.

    1: They aren't so much a pet class, they get 1 pet and it adds to their DPS. The Necromancer is the pet class.
    2: They don't rely on curses but lightning and fire magic.
    3: They don't fear.

    OK calm down. I know WOW meantioned in any post for WAR and AOC is a big flame war starter. I'm not assuming, I stating facts. Giving out some useful information, that's all.

     

    I didn't even say it was a bad thing. I just made a pretty spot on comparison as far as game play is concerned. I also added that I hate pet classes and feel the need to be one in order to be competitive in PvP.

    Get over your fear of WOW mate, it's here to stay for a long time. It will influence every upcoming game.

    When AOC and WAR both are asking for end game guilds playing WOW, you have to believe that they are adapting to SOMEthing in WOW.

    Maybe you should join some private forums.

    If AOC is released in March I don't see myself buying it. I'm damn sure not looking forward to anything else. I have faith in Funcom though. If anyone can finally end up with a great game, it will be them.

    Saying demo=lock is not a fact. Its not even close in the playstyle. Read a little more and you will see that you got your facts all wrong mate.

    i know WoW will influence pretty much every MMO coming out for a LONG time. I agree there. But what i dont agree with (or maybe what i hope isnt tru) is when people compare the classes/pvp in AoC to that of WoW.

    This is one of the main reasons i want to play AoC. Real pvp and not as many kiddies will be great. Im hoping WAR will take all of the kids even though i dont plan on checking that game out too.
