I'm trying to find some MMO's with good pvp. (world pvp is best, but other forms of pvp are acceptable).
I don't care if they are free or pay to play.
I'm looking for games, where there is loads of PVE.. I don't like games where.. the pve is kinda left to the wayside (Guildwars)... I like feeling like I did something to get to the point where I can PVP. I don't want to be just tossed into pvp from the start. In other words, I'm not lookin for a first person shooter disguised as a fantasy mmo.

I'm not sure if this may be your play-style, but EVE online has basically what you're looking for. It's got a massive PvE world where you can do basically everything you want, from run a corporation, to missions, to hunting pirates in asteroid belts,to being an industrialist, and then the PvP is just as diverse. With being a pirate yourself, and hunting in low-sec space, the massive 0.0 sec wars which are raging, or even just the occasional group of friends going out looking for some poor soul to explode.
Give the 14 day trial a shot and see how you like it. It's got a very steep learning curve, and it may not be for you, but once you know what you want to do in the game, and how to do it, it's a blast
"A single battle you have won, but so quick to think that this will be the end? I, like fear, am eternal, and in your dreams, I shall forever haunt."
The only MMO with great PvP is
I just, well, there is something about developing a character in an MMORPG for 3 months and then having some teen say, "I owned you" after killing you [often with a hack] in PvP.
In my view, MMORPGs are not for PvP. FPS = great PvP.

Vendetta Online is a space based mmo in which your the pilot of a spaceship. Yea its similar to that of EVE in the genre but thats about it because this game has twitch based combat in which you must duck dive roll strafe and turbo to avoid getting hit and to help you hit others.
The PVP is top notch and is obviously the most interesting and challenging (in a good way) i have ever seen. 4 ways to fly your ship with flight assist and auto target (each has its positives and negatives) on top of the numerous controls to strafe duck and dive. PVP can be very intense especially in nation wars, border patrols, border skirmishes, and capital ship battles.
On top of the great PVP the PVE system is flourishing in VO. The PVE enemies are mainly collector bots who due to a malfunction many years ago have gone rogue. The can be easy bots that have a little challenge but they can also range upwards to large hive bots like the queen and leviathin the latter is larger than most stations in game. These can take multiple people to bring down and recently a dynamic hive (hive is the term named for the robot force that grows by mining and manufacturing new bots and spreading out.) has been spreading out from its initial areas into surrounding regions. Unless the players of the game destroy these hives then they will continue to spread and run rampant throughout the universe.

I would like to take this moment, to thank you for the replies. but I should have mentioned that flying around in a space ship is not that fun to me.
Not sure why people like EVE. maybe my IQ is very low.. but I couldn't figure it out, and like i said.. i like to "see" my toon.. not a space ship.
thanks for the offers.. but i will be sticking to EQ2 and Vanguard

No.30 people playing with each other is not an MMO.
300 people playing together is an MMO.
30 people is not massive by any means.

Quoted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MMOG
"Massively multiplayer online game (also called MMOG or simply MMO) is a video game which is capable of supporting hundreds or thousands of players simultaneously. By necessity, they are played on the Internet, and feature at least one persistent world."
Ut3 and Cod do not really feature persistent worlds, do they? They are, by definition, MOGs. MMOGs are a different genre.
