So anyways, right now I am waiting for either Everquest 2 or World of Warcraft. I'm really bored over summer and really need a game to play. I've played the 14 day trial of SWG and it got old for me, Horizons and it seemed everything I fought was the same, and City of Heroes, which got really repetitive (sp?). Some people tell me games are getting old for me since my first MMORPG was Everquest and since it was my first, nothing can beat it.
Anyways, I would like to know what are some good games that are out there right now? I don't want any of those games like runescape which is just total crap in my opinion (no offence to you runescape lovers.) And also, if they have a trial period you can download, or if its a beta, etc. Thanks!

I'm basically in the same situation as you

Play AO, it has a 7 day trial.
Or wait for Guild Wars or WoW
Dont even touch that crap of EQ2
I found myself in the same boat last year. I was waiting for Star Wars: Galaxies, having pinned a lot of hopes on it that it would be my next EverQuest. As a result, I didn't play anything else. Well, when SW:G came out I was highly disappointed and didn't even play past beta.
At the end of last year I went back to DAoC. I was really waiting for EQ2 or WoW or UX:O (not anymore ) and was just looking for a game to play to kill some time. I got deeply involved in the game and just recently got my character to 50. WoW and EQ2 are still not out. Had I merely waited, I would have missed out on all the good experiences I had in DAoC.
I'll probably still play EQ2 when it is released, but I'll keep my DAoC account as well. I would suggest that if you enjoy the genre and really want to play, then go ahead. The games for which you are waiting may not be all that great and the game you chose as a temporary filler might well be your next obsession.

The release is long way off but the Beta for Wish starts in sep. and the game is looking great, also check out guild wars and if you like everquest then DaoC should be good for you.

You can try the 14 day trial of Eve Online. No credit card required. You can find that promo right here at this site. Its the game I play and I recommend it for anyone. Might be a little unfriendly to new people because it is one of the most complicated gamed it seems, and there is a huge gapo between old players and new.
I became so fed up and sick of blowing mass money on games of all genres all together that I finally joined GameFly and now I get 2 games delivered at a time with no late fee's, keep as long as I want etc. we have been Netflix members for years now and I thought what the heck a company is doing it with console games now too so I will try it out. For 21 bucks a month sure beats me buying all the games, beating them and being bored with them and reselling them for pennies on the dollar for something new. unfortunately they don't do PC games and I would assume due to piracy issues.
On the MMO beat I am in the same boat as well I am sick and tired of everything that has come and gone and I am also extremely bored. My favorite games are of course RPG and MMO's and I been playing since Meridian 59 and Archmage ( MUD'S before that) so I know exactly how you feel. Matter of fact I give 2 games one last shot to lure me in and keep me there before I give up the MMO scene all together and that is EQ2 and Vanguard. I followed WOW from it's inception but the Blizzard boards are pitiful and full of cement heads as they always have been, I have friends in beta that say begging is out of control even in the beta and I just don't want to be surrounded by the blizz crowd anymore. Good game or not this is what will keep me away from it the shitty community.
It's a simple world for complicated people!
