I played saga of ryzom for like 5 minutes and I hated it. Plus it froze up my computer and I wasted like 2 hours playing it. This is my opinion though, I know a few people who like it but personaly I think its the dumbest mmorpg ever.
1) in the long run, computer specs do matter. If hes using an ATI video card, then he will most likely have problems because no one likes ATI anyways
2) its not the worst beta ever, they were just smart and had open beta before other games do, and therefore there were more bugs for people to spot. So dont go off, because theres a lot of worse games than this.
3) there is tons of new things in Ryzom. Yes, the brick system is new, and its great, you can customize your own spells. Theres original characters, races, and story line. Not like any other RPG does, im sure youre content with all your medieval RPGs with the same races/classes but some people like smarter gamed than that. Im sorry if you dont actually like to 'ROLE PLAY' like youre supposed to in the genre, but this game is trying to bring that element of RPGing back to the genre, and weed children like you out of it.
4) No one is going to respect your opinion of 'p.s. i will never waist my money for this game' when you cant even spell a simple word like waste, so finish elementary school before posting your opinions

I believe you get out what you put in. SoR is far from perfect at the moment but surely that was the whole point of going open beta. Congratulations to a company that puts product quality before quick profit. I joined the beta on day 1 and my ATI card crashed every 2 minutes but seek the answers and they were there. The Devs may not respond to the testers input but we passed our knowledge on to each other through the somewhat quirky forums. I believe my persistence paid off as I met some great people and had some really ace game play. If SoR turns out to be half as good as it could be it will still be a game to be reckoned with. Roll on September, (or whenever it finally gets released).

whats everyones problem? first of all SoR was put in open beta when most start closed beta.. so yeah there were plenty of bugs and missing content, but over all the aspects offered great gameplay, I cant wait to see how it is next time its put into beta or released i think the game will be far improved

I played SoR open beta from April 24th up until open beta's final day on June 10th. Yes, it was very buggy, and I think Nevrax made a good decision, the only decision they really could of made in my opinion, to post pone the release date till at least September of this year. Here's my take, and really, just a matter of opinion.
Is SoR a bad mmorpg compared to other mmorpg's to be released? Too early to tell just yet. If Nevrax includes all that is promised, yes it will be a pretty good mmorpg. Kittin invasions, goo, properly working guild system, duels, the story and history.
Will SoR be as popular as EQ2, D-n-L, Wish, WoW, GW, or MeO?Probably not, but that doesn't make it a crappy mmorpg.
Will I play SoR?I don't know. I have to wait and compare it to other mmorpgs. Not only are there going to be a good many mmorpgs released between now and xmas, but some pretty damn good fps games as well. Halo2, Doom3, Half-Life2 and so on.
Is ATI better than nVidia or vice-a-versa? It depends on what game you play and your system. On some games the ATI cards out perform nVidia, and on others nVidia is top dog. Here are a couple of interesting articles on the subject.
nVidia might have the edge in the near future, but this is a battle between both ATI and nVidia that will go on for quite sometime. I would like to see a 3rd party rise up to challenge them. This would drive the prices down on the cards. Don't know if it will ever happen or if it is feasible though.

So you played it for 5 minutes and 2 hours? GOod job dummy. My guess is you played it for two hours and didnt bother to read the help file or any of the tutorials, or even check www.worldofryzom.com for tips. Jumpin into a MMORPG without knowing what to expect always ends up with a jerk like you defaming the game without realizing the problem is you. It had a ok graphics card at the time which is now looking pretty dated but I made sure I got a Ti so it ran all the shaders that were going to be coming out with DX9. SoR ran beautifully on it with ne'er a problem. I think I got lucky!
As for all the bad experiences, I played the open Beta weekend there, a while back. Now, I work in QA for one of the big guns in the industry and they're very strict on Beta criteria. When it was first running SoR seemed almost Alpha quality, as someone mentioned above, but now that they've started working on things properly in the run up to release, as with all Beta's, the level of improvement has just shot up. They've still got a lot of work to do ( I wasn't finding many game stoppers but a lot of content there hasn't been implemented from what I saw) but their devotion to the product and the innovations they are attempting to make for the genre makes me want to keep a very close eye on this title. And they're French!? Who would have thought it!?
Geez, anyone that's only played for 5 minutes and is flaming the game needs a new head. These games are meant to be long lasting! Yes, if you played Counterstrike for 5-10 min and it sucked, then the game sucked for you. But these are long-time games, not the little arcade games you are used to. You can't spend 5 minutes in one of these games and *know* that it's bad or good. You spend the first five minutes looking around the screen noticing the differences and the graphics. I played a little of the Ryzom Open Beta, and the interface was a little confusing at first, but now I can't think of a better one that any of the other games have put out.

I have to agree, it doesn't seem that you have all the facts that you need to make an argument against or for the game. I've been looking at this game closely as a game that I would feel comfortable letting my kids play, and it seems like I like the community that is for the game. They seem nice and helpful, instead of jerky and psychologically troubled like so many other game.

Well its back in closed beta now and they are trying lots of new stuff. Right now its unplayable again, but the previous patch was quite good. Its to be expected that the fun and playabilty will flux as they try new things before goign retail.

Personally I think it is a cool game but everyone is intitled to thier own opinions; however, one can not develope a good idea what a game is about in five minutes... unless of course the game is Wurm Oline but that is a different story . From what i've heard the first open beta was really buggy but if you happened to play the open beta weekend not long ago. The game was much more stable and very hooah. I think they are planing another open beta in a few weeks. Do yourself a favor and try it again.
