*I do not want to craft, and I am not that interested in diplomacy because the card game is too boring and too complicated for ME. I want to do some group stuff, solo epic Quests, etc. The end-game raiding just does not excite me. In fact, I am just about totally done with "raiding" except for the occasional dragon or lesser god that spawns.
I am also not able to really customize my character in a deep way, and my class cannot solo in addition to being the worst healer for raiding. It is like, well, what can I do?

Yes. I think so. My server, Seradon, seems to have a good population.
I think one of the reasons that I cannot bring myself to level an alt, I just realized, is because the end-game is not appealing to me.
It would be like doing a lot of work for 3 months to level a guy for an end-game that lacks 1) alternative advancement, 2) deep Questing for epic (a) items, (b) abilities, (c) and other stuff like houses. You can begin the epic mount Quest at level 20, I think, which is cool. I just find there is not much to do, especially in terms of solo content, around 40+.

The game runs fine for me. I get better FPS less lag and real good performance. I even run the game at 3840x1024 resolution on Very High, Ultra High settings. My frames range from 20 cities, 40-60FPS everywhere else. My pc is 6 months old. It runs fine.

I just installed it after giving it a go at launch. The performance seems better but is still pretty bad. I can't stand the stutters while I'm running around.
What still kills me is the font. The font (above characters, entering areas, health bar) is so cheap looking, it makes it look like it's still in beta.

Again, to the OP, I wouldn't be totally surprised it's a driver issue for some of that, but I do agree that much of the game's rendering is terrible. I think your complaint is valid too, on the grounds that a game should work well with a wide range of hardware considering this game was built for the PC market (which means larger than expect variations in system specifications). But, I still like the game none the less and I'm coming from playing a long list of MMOs (AC1, AC2, AO, EQ2, SWG (pre-NGE and pre-CU), EVE, LOTRO, and TR), and I prefer the gameplay of Vanguard over most games right now. If you want to call me a fanboi, go ahead, but if I'm a fanboi, then Roger Ebert is a sellout.
I tried the game in last stages of beta a year ago. Granted I didn't visit large cities at the time but I didn't have issues with performance even at that time. I was playing eq2 at the time and Vanguard just didn't interest me enough to continue playing. I read a lot about it after it went live and saw about the whole fiasco and everything.
After getting bored with most other mmos I broke down and bought Vanguard in September just after the server merges.
Performance has increased with the latest patches and game takes up less memory. Outside I get over 60 fps most of the time at high settings. Game tries to be a seamless world and loads objects on the fly. One gets hit pretty hard on fps when entering cities. Due to lots and lots of hard drive action fps really drops down to single digits. After a while when most of the objects are loaded it gets better but is still a lot worse then outside where there are less objects. As it has been mentioned before in the thread luckily fps aren't that crucial in large cities and the game is still playable.
Game does still have some bugs just as other mmos do. Most I don't even notice or are not game braking for me. What bothers me though are some bugs that should be fixed as soon as possible such as going up the stairs, mobs sometimes get stuck in walls or ground or are otherwise "not seen" and can't be attacked.
After having played most of the mmorpgs out there I still think Vanguard isn't that bad in fact I think it is one of the best games. It is true that it isn't as polished as some other titles but it has other strengths. Knowing that mmorpgs evolve constantly one should know they aren't perfect.

Vanguard's performance on my system is outstanding!
But good performance (which should be a given in any game, not a factor in determining how good a game is) isn't enough to keep me playing.
