Fadinaway I signed up for the focus beta but they haven't let me in yet. I signed up here at http://atys.ryzom.com/?page=form_focus but I haven't gotten an email back. I was wondering when the next wave was going to be? I have waited on sending an email because others seem to be in the same boat. I missed out on the open beta because I was in school and I really want to help make the game awesome. Do you have an update for us regarding the focus beta along with how the game is progressing?

Hello Lampshade1,

We pick Beta testers every Monday. As we move through the test we will be picking more an more each Monday. This past Monday we added at least 200 new testers. Please be patient, we do have a *lot* of applications for the Focused Beta Test.

The best way to keep up to date on everything happening is to make sure you keep watching the main website for news and the main forums for focus testing information.

Ive been in the beta for a long time. Yet i havent played it in a long time since ican never get a client file. so can anyone point me to a working adress where i can get the client?

Hello,

You can get the Beta client at http://213.208.119.223/ryzom_beta3.exe

That is the Beta 3 client and you will have some patching to do after you download it, but it will work for you.

Just out of curiousity, for those of us not lucky enough to picked to be focus beta testers, will future open beta weekends be held using this same new client or should we keep the old installation?

Also, is there any chance of using something like bittorrent to distribute these huge files? Even on my DSL line, it takes hours to download.

As long asy ou have the Beta 3 client you will not have to download a new client. You may have to download a lot of patches, but not a new client.

I apologize, I do not have an official word on Bit Torrent.

Hey, for a chance to play a MMO for free before it comes out for even just a couple weekends, I'll download something for a few hours while I'm sleeping!

When I sign up, will I get to keep my in-game name when the game is released? Cause I hope no one has taken Vampiregirl yet. ::::16::

Nice. Wish other games would do something like this. Kinda annoying to see all this advertising about a game, only to hear that their beta is closed except for the select few who lied on their app to get into it! I think I'll follow everyone else this time and sign up (they better not spam me) since every other game out there sucks.

Hey, if I wanted to get in on this, and my kids wanted to also, is it possible to use the same email address? I'd hate to have my kids get in trouble, and using the same email address lets me keep good tabs on what they do. Thanks.

Hello,

No, you cannot use the same email address. Most ISPs allow you more than one email per account, so you may want to check to see if your email offers the same.

Also, you can now download the Ryzom client via Bit Torrent. You can get the torrent at: http://download3.nevrax.com/

I'm assuming my account is still active, but I don't know. I got my SoR account when open beta first started back in April, but I haven't been active on the SoR forums or played any of the open beta special weekend events since SoR went back into closed focus beta testing. Do I still have my account and characters from open beta or do I need to get a new account???

I think there will be a character wipe so an INGAME name is deleted then too..
