You kind of described WoW there, however I'll take a sec. to fill you in about L2. =)

L2 is a very 'hardcore' game-- it isn't for the casual heart at all. It's extremely grindy, and takes months to reach the cap of level 78, I believe. However, getting to that point is very rewarding. The PvP is intense and there's a % exp loss with each death in PvP and sometimes on higher circumstances an item drop. There's also castle sieges where guilds can own castles for a period of time until another guild tries to take it back (these are scheduled events). There is also (BRAND NEW) new sieges that take place 24 hours a day where guilds try to guard and hold certain points on the map. It's a very rewarding game-- but it takes TIME to get to that point. If this interests you, don't be afraid to pick up a box. It's pretty cheap and you also get your month free.

    Hope this helps!

WoW's pvp sucks compared to other games designed for PvP (its better than EQ2's pvp though).   WoW and EQ2 both offer basically what your asking for.   As far as grinding, raiding, looting, exploring etc etc.   WoW's faster paced and more solo friendly.  EQ2 is slower paced & decently solo friendly.   They both have their merits.

Tabula Rasa I'm not sure about Raids..or its PvP...but its pretty much a PVE game and there's not alot of grind to it that I remember...I got personally bored when I played it within the first hour.

Guild Wars is supposedly be incredibly popular as long as you have the expansions you can still play the expansion materials.   There's not much for exploring the main 'city' is a hub and the outside of the city is instanced off for quests & pvp.   Its basically an instance game .. but people love its pvp from what i hear.

What you think whats best item based game for solo players.. cos like in wow u have to raid use alot of time to kill someone and in the end u get nothing many raids and low with items.  EQ or L2 or GW  have difference with it ? if i could grind alone more and get powerfull items what i  get in raids ? or all games based on sama teory more players, better items ?

I get bored of MMO's pretty quickly so I tend to stick with free ones at least until I find a good pay one that will keep my interest for more than a month or two.  I hated L2, I guess I'm not that hard core, I have friends who loved that game.  WOW was fun for a while, but I got bored.

Now I'm playing Perfect World which is cool but I'm trying not to play it as much since when the US server come up I'll have to remake a character, but there is a lot to do, I have never run out of missions and its pretty fun.  Talisman online is pretty cool too, I just started playing it.  The thing I don't like about it is its click based instead of WASD move.  Sword of the new world is a very nice looking game, and its fun.  The thing I hear about it is you can just AFK level through the game but if you decide to actually play it and do the quests is quite fun.  RFonline is a good Sci-fi game, good graphics and decent game play.  I haven't played it much, because it seems kind of involved and I haven't had the time with the holidays.  Archlord is a fun game and has a few cool things in it like a bounty system, but I've had some strange lag on it where I'll turn but it takes a second or so for my minimap arrow to show the proper direction.  ZUonline is a nice looking game but one of the quests makes you add 5 people to your friends list and the following quest makes each one get 1000 points.  I don't mind grouping with people but for it to make you do it its kind of a pain unless you have 4 other friends that play it.  I played 9dragons for a while and it was fun, but there isn't any crafting and I think thats kind of what makes a game a little more interesting...forging and crafting.  2moons seemed kind of fun but again no crafting system.  Shaiya I just downloaded the other day and its ok, I played it about an hour so far, haven't really had time to make judgement.   I did try Twelve Sky for about 10 min then deleted it because the graphics were not that great and the character tracking when moving was aweful, I kept running into things and getting stuck which just pissed me off.  World of Kung foo is interesting, people gave it a low score on here, but its kind of fun.  The graphics are ok, not great, the character animation needs some work, but its not to bad of a game.  Age of Armor is a good idea, but the graphics are really low grade and some of the game systems are just to strange.  Maybe if the graphics were better I'd get more into it and learn some of the things that are on it.  Those are the free games I've most recently played.  Some are worth trying out some aren't.  The one I'm really looking forward to is Cabal online, from what I read it a pretty solid game.

As for pay games I have hopes for Stargate worlds and Star Trek Online if they don't screw it up.  I'm also interested in Tabula Rasa, but I'll wait until they get the kinks out of it.  Conan and Warhammer sound interesting too, I'm trying to get into the beta of both but no luck so far.

Games I hoped would work but didn't are.  Dark and LIght, this game when I read about it before it went beta sounded really good.  I loved the idea of an eco system in  a game, and weather change and all the things you could do in it.  I haven't payed it but from what I read about it its pretty bad which is sad because for a long while I wanted to play it, I really wanted it to be good.  I just guess the Devs put to much on their plate, they not only wanted to make a unique and fun world but also the biggest and for a new company (and probably people who are new to making games) it was to much for them.  Maybe if they sold the game to someone who can make it better it would work, but it may be to late for that now.  Face of Mankind, I played the beta for this and it was just BAD.  I don't know if its because they just had the players make their own missions or not.  I think if they had more mission ideas instead of just looking over a sector and trying to capture a sector it might have been better.  Fury, this is a game I should have mentioned above, I should have known better a 100% pvp game.  I wouldn't even consider it an MMO, I played it for about 20 minutes then I deleted it.  The Matrix Online, I beta tested this too.  It had some interesting game play but not enough to make me want to buy it.  I was hoping it would have a better fight control system, I was thinking more like what I hear Conan's system is like.

Hopefully this helps you.  There are a couple 2D games I played but I decided not to mention them.

L2 is the biggest grind you'll ever find.... Its pretty much like Archlord, I mean Archlord is a copy of L2 90%.

Anyway, Guild Wars is a fun game to play... but I HATE its PvP, its just 100% spam healing nothing else.

Tabula Rasa is purely PvE based, it only has dueling and clan wars (which is kinda like a group dueling another group) for PvP, though its still pretty fun. Tabula Rasa lacks content and gets boring after level 30-35 atleast thats what i've heard.

As for a good NEW PvP game, sadly..... there are none :(
