    It will come out before 2k5 I think, they said they are doing everything possible to avaid a 2k5 release.

    Well, I sure hope you're right.  I've been waiting so long for this game...I don't know if I can handle another year of waiting.

    I know what you mean, try playing KO to pass the time.  It just released open beta last night.  Its not great, but its not bad either.

    If they cant release in the same time as WoW, then expect an extra 2 months, there would be no point in releasing AFTER WoW within 2 months, they will rather fix bugs and extend beta.  But if they can meet WoW calendar as well, then maybe...

    Even a EQ believer like me will not buy EQ2 if I am playing WoW because it was available before...not until I am bored. :)

    It really is a pain to be a competitor that bring a game AFTER WoW if EQ2 wait about 2 months althought, but I dont think kindness will prevent SoE from waiting about 2 months.

    Lineage 2 marketting was lucky or well tuned and they better respect that calendar IMO :)  Which add more to the poor situation for competitors, but Lin2 will prolly not be a major player.

    I dont know that there has ever been an official release date.  Many retailers at one point had it listed to be out back in Nov of 2003 originally.  Now some list it as October 2004 and in a recent article the EQ2 PR guy indicated they were working hard to get the game out this year.

    I quit EQ almost a year ago, after being quite hooked... and tried SWG for a while...but nothing since.  I am SOOOOOO bored!!  Saw some videos of Devs playin, damn that was awesome!  It really looks great! 

    Yea...I know...get a life... LOL image

    Id love for it to be this year, however based on past histories of game releases, I cant see it happening.  This time is one occasion that I would be really happy to be wrong!!!

    You know that blizzard also Procrastinates its release dates. So I don't know if eather of them will release it on time.

    Dang the public beta still hasn't come out yet so I am wondering when they are expecting it to come out now and when the origional expected release date is?

    Well that sucks they aren't going to get a definant date for us. I don't even think it will be released in 2004 since its still not out in beta

    for all we know its being polished now image now go dream about that LoL. i think theyll get it out this year before Xmas if possible. i think if theyre going to release it this year it will be out by weekend after thanksgiving. recently they said public beta is almost ready to begin- maybe first week ofAug? that would be cool.

    I am pretty sure it will come out at least 1 week before Christmas at the latest, and if WoW is released and EQ2 isnt even gone gold yet I am pretty sure EQ2 will lose about 1/3 of its potential buyers, i know i would play WoW and probably get into it and might wait a lot longer to get EQ2.

    Oh yeah the Starter Kit thing for EQ2 is SOE backup just in case they get beat to the punch for release, that way they have over 50,000+ people who are stuck buying the game no matter what-they got me damnit.

    There is one thing I can guarantee you. EQII and WoW will come out at the same time.
