Want to play mmorpg but which one?

Hi to all!

I'm a new user here at mmorpg and i'm a newbie at this kind of games.

I played the demos (or the open betas) of Guild Wars, Saga of Ryzom and Eve but I'm not sure I found the mmorpg that best suits me.

I like to party with other players, I like to explore large lands with a great design and graphics and I like to heavily customize my appearence! I thought FFXI was the best for me but after reading a lot of posts in this forum I'm not sure (4 different faces!?). Maybe Guild Wars is the best (for me). But it's not a mmorpg and in the open beta I found myself often bound to the mission to do and not free to do whatever I wanted...

Is there a mmorpg with what I want? Please answer gurus image

Thanks!

FFXI has 5 races, 9-12 faces, not 4, and 2 hair colour for each face. Lol. Just correcting ya ::::31::

A vast improvement on 4 but i am still shocked how any company can conceive producing a game with so little choice in customisation for character.

As far as i am concerned there is really no excuse for having poor character creation screens, and in fact i would have enough options in a game so that every time a combo was chosen i would lock that combo so that no 2 people could be exactly the same from the outset. And this is just basically body size, face features, hair, piercings, tatoos, scars etc as opposed to the clothes you start out in.

    MUAHAHAHAHAHA

They don't all look the same. Some are very similar but alot of them are different looking. There is also a choice on height (3 choices, small, medium, big). Though the tarutaru's will always be the shortest, and the elvaan will always be the tallest (or is it Galka?).

    Ok,

I'm a guy who has played ffxI, SWG. EQ, DiabloI,DiabloII, Runescape, Conquer, Morrowind, COH, etc. etc. etc.......

I must suggest looking at the older games before choosing a new one that might not live up to the price tag....

COH sucked....so did ffxI, EQ wasn't bad....but still out of all these mmorpgs, if you want character customization and really good clans/parties....go with SWG! Their are many possibilities and i enjoyed this game... and now you and your clan/guild can go into space and do all that stuff.....i am under no curcumstances playing STW anymore...i'm patiently awaiting a game that suites me better.......i hope EQ and WofW will live up to my high (poissibly too high) standards.

    Thanks

    Thanks

Just correcting you again, the Guild Wars you played started at level 15, it was Alpha, not Beta, there is a huge difference. What you played is just and incomplete game.

I find it funny how EVE, even though there is no point to it, has a better character customization than most MMORPGs. You can alter nearly everything about your characters face (the only time you ever see it is in someones portrait, otherwise you jsu see them in their ship) through slider bars, much like SWG. Id have to say Lineage has THE WORST character customization ever, i mean you can run into a small crowd and easily pick out someone that looks exactly like you (except for armour and stuff) and there isnt much for class choices either... wizard or warrior... wee.

    Try the following mmorpgs:

Anarchy Online (the best sci-fi around) Trial

Dark Age of Camelot (Realm VS Realm is cool) Trial

Final Fantasy XI (jap fantasy, the best there is) Retail

    1. Your talking about Lineage II
    2. Lineage has the worst character cutomization, not Lineage II. (Armor doesn't change how u look)
    3. There isn't much for class choices? LOL. It's called the class branching system, sir. There are 32 classes in total after the 2nd class transfer (at level 40). And they are planning to make new class transfers at level 60. Which would make a MINIMUM of 64 classes in total.
