Will WoW have an open beta?

Does anyone know if WoW is going to do an open beta before release?  My hopes for getting into the closed beta have dwindled to almost nothing.  Now I'm just holding out that there will be an open beta.

Has Blizzard said anything official about this?

    They have stated that there will be an Open beta. As to when open beta starts your guess is as good as mine cuz no date has been set yet.

    There will be one and I cannot wait for it either. A good chance to play the game for free to get a feel and play with friends that didn't have a chance to sign up for closed beta testing.

    As with most MMORPG Open beta's it will be flooded with thousands of people in the newbie areas so i dont know how much of a chance we'll have to actually fight for exp..but will be nice to see the worldimage

    Its gonna be flooded come retail in the newbie areas as well so least we get to see how BAD it will be lol.

    It will be interesting to see how many servers Blizzard will have ready when Open Beta goes live.

    a precursor to what im about to say, im not in a good stat of mind so.

    im not sure if i would play in open beta - i almost want to wait till release to get my first taste. as of now five months doesn't seem that long - and then i just get to be more satisfied when i play for the first time image

    I am still trying to decide. I am in the middle, I want to play this game so eagerly but I also want to play a complete product, so I just chose the one in the middle. It wasn't really a stupid question, it was just right there in the middle and I felt that it best got across the message I was trying to establish.image

    With WoW's hype they need atleast 35 servers + maybe 50. Jesus they got the whole Korean Population, China, USA, Japan, Europe, this is gonna be a horrible launch I GUARENTEE

    So if you got a beta key right now, you wouldnt play it and give it away? If not, I dont get the difference between beta now, and open betaimage

    I've been waiting 3 years to play and if I got a chance to atleast play the beta, my thurst will finally be quenched! image

    This game is too good to pass up a chance to play it. Even in it's Beta form, it's better than most completed MMORPGs out there.

    Ive been waiting years for this game to come out ever since the trailer from the WC3 cds. And now that its finally in beta if I get a chance to play you better damn well believe Ill be playing it image

    Like Lungard I have also been waiting 3+ years to play WOW. If I have the chance to get into the beta, I will.

    Didn't you get the beta bethel? I thought I could remember you saying a while ago that you were going to get the beta. If that's true you wouldn't have to wait for the open beta. You'd have a shorter time than the rest of us.

    If I got a beta key I would have the game up in 5 minutes... even if it takes 30 minutes to download.

    Must play this game is going to kill most all other mmorpg's. Between WoW and EQII, most other games will die off. I know only 1person out of like 50 online friends that got into the beta. Open beta needs to happen soon!!!!!!
