LOL, thats just uber funny. Lol just lol...though if some american realy would be taking cosplay a bit more ''serious'' and if he took more time im sure he could make an awesome Cloud etc. But anyway lawl.

Well the reason why americans suck at cosplay is : Mcdonalds & that they are greedy and dont want to spend to much money on it.
Look at the japanese! They own at it! I almost feel like saving money to get a japanese person to make a Chaos Chosen costume for me

Yeah, the author is right. I'm sorry, but you have to look at it logically they are modelled and based on their own culture. Even when cosplaying american characters/heroes, unless you drop your weight to under 200 lbs, you honestly shouldn't cosplay (unless your body is completely shrouded under a trench coat lol!)
I've seen bad cosplay, not withstanding my overweight friend cosplaying The Doorman from Silent Hill 2 (read: black bodysuit), and he has a point, there is a lot of shite cosplay out there, however.. there's also a lot of good ones too. Sure, having half of those eclipsed by Sailor Bubba is bad, but that's still a lot of good cosplay.
Here's to finding the very best of Jap cosplay and comparing it to the very worst American cosplay.

Meh, terrible article. I went to Otakon 07. Many Americas made the best cosplayers. I'M VERY SERIOUS. I took pictures of a woman that looks JUST LIKE ADA WONG. I got the pics and everything, but I have to put my stuff on there so they won't get stolen lol. Let me just say, it's a funny article, but your not ment to actually look like the person you are going for. It's all in good fun.
Even at the Japanese ones you will find bad cosplayers, but it takes BALLS to dress up. I went as Zach from DOA4. I played my part good lol.

To be fair...you coud have at least mentioned that you already knew that it was super obvious that the author did that...not that I'm defending LARPERs or COSPlayers, or even saying that Americans are GOOD Cosplayers, because I honestly couldn't care less.

Eh, I'd say Americans do just fine when you're not comparing pro's or insane hardcore fans that have spent years, and hundreds of dollars or more, with some random fan that spent $30 at The Yarn Barn...

It's hardly fair to Americans when the Anime characters, even the men, look like women. In Japan either sex can pull off the feminine form, while in America we need 85 lb. girls to make it happen. I call unfair. Let's see the Japanese cosplay an American comic book character. I'm willing to bet it takes at least three of them to fill out one costume.

as far as cosplay goes i dont care either way, a hot girl is a hot girl no matter what costume she is in, a ugly girl is ugly.
