Ok so with my EQ2 subscription running out, and having got a ps3 for xmas i dont really think i need to be paying for an MMO any more.
Id like it to have:
Lots of content, i dont mind grinding but i want choices of where to grind.
Prefferably FFA pvp with more to do at the end game than camp low level quest/grind spots.
Preferrably a good crafting system although this isnt important.
One good sized english speaking server at least.
Still be in development.
Preferrably 1-2 years old so i know theres going to be more end game content.
Im a sucker for graphics but again these arnt very important.
Depth.
(I know im probally asking a lot)
I dont want to play a browser based game thanks!
I had been thinking of AO would that be a good choice? i know itss till got 2 english speqaking servers, and is meant to have some good PvP.

perfect world is a very good free to play game, after level 30 it becomes open pvp.

Yeah, Perfect world is probrably the closest f2p to your requirements you'll find. I personally say it's probrably the best f2p out there right now.

The pen is mightier than the sword, and authority is mightier than the pen, but the sword is mightier than authority.
If you can't beat 'em, hold 'em off 'till you come up with a better plan.
Dream of Mirror Online is a really good game, while it doesn't have open PvP, you can duel people. It has a crafting system which seems to be pretty decent. You can find Armor and Item Recipes all over the world but you have to buy or steal Weapon recipies.
There are a LOT of jobs to choose from, though like 3 or 4 aren't in game yet. The job system is really interesting. It's very similar to the job system in Final Fantasy Tactics. You can level any and all the jobs you want, each job has 3 different skill sets which you can equip to your character as sub jobs.
It also has an interesting relationship system where you can build up 3 different types of relationships with someone and while you're partied with them different skills will activate depending on different factors. Like lovers get an AoE attack skill that'll automatically go off depending on how long they've been partying together and their Luck in Love.
The graphics aren't cutting edge and are very cutesy and look nice in my opinion.

The 2 F2P games I've been into lately are Exteel and Dungeon Runners. Exteel just realeased a few weeks ago, and is a very fast paced 3rd person shooter... maybe not an MMO, but 8 v 8 PvP is fun
Dungeon Runners is a fun grind. There is PvP in it, but I haven't tried it yet.
Also, I know Planetside is free again for a certain time cause I've logged into it a few times over the past week or two.
LotRO: Meneldor: Riders of the Riddermark
Guild Wars is my choice. You must buy the game but there are no monthly fees.
I would hafta agree with the few others that mentioned the game Perfect World. It is fillin my time till AoC comes out. But has much of what you are looking for. Lots to do n see graphics are beautiful. Same old grinding as any other game. Can do quite well in game without every buying from the online store.
